Join in the World Cup 2018 betting fun..

Just like the World Cup we’ve hopefully got 32 participants and 8 groups. The best 2 from each group goes through to the next round. Only bets on the World Cup is allowed.
Each contestant gets picked (by random) one of the national teams competing in the World Cup 2018. And then they have to do 5 bets related to there team (can bet against them and so on). Shouldn’t be a problem finding bets as there will be 50+ bets possible to do on any one game in the World cup.

After the league stage the people with most points go through (top 2). They are then up against a person from another group (following the same schedule as the real WC, A1 vs B2 and so on, in the next round).

Number of bets:
Group stages (32 participants): 14-28.June – 20 bets (15+5) – 48 games to bet on.
2. Stage (16): 30-03.July - 10 bets – 8 games
3. Stage (8): 06-07.July – 10 bets – 4 games
4. Stage (4): 10-11.July – 10 bets – 2 games
5. Stage (5): 14-15.July – 10 bets – 2 games (final and bronze final..)
(in the last couple of rounds..bets will be pm'd hidden to me (or someone else) before posted..when few matches to bet on.

In addition to the regular bets, one can also do 2 “long-term” bets.
1. Who do you think will win the WC?
2. Top scorer?
Search for the best odds and put it up (name the bookie), can for example use: www.oddschecker.com
These bets will only come into play if you are one of the 2 finalists.
Bets have to be placed before the start of the tournament.



*The regular rules..
1. Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.

2. Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 14 days. Maximum bet on a single game is 10 points, same rule applies for identical multis.

3. After the group stage the qualifiers all start on 0 points (same for each round).

4. Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 England win and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.
Any bet from an exchange bookie will have a 4% commission

5. Players must quote where they're getting their prices.

6. Singles and upwards accepted.

7. For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.

8. E/W bets are counted as two bets in the masters, which means 10 points x 2

9. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.

10. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.

11. After a bet has been posted up, one is not allowed to edit it..

12. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together.

If you want you can just run it from now onwards:) But if you want me to set-up the groups I can do that also.

I wonder if we should have put this thread in the World Cup forum..I think that is how we got so many participants before.
But already up to 13 players..so maybe just see how it goes. Still two weeks to go :)

I will have my usual woeful attempt at mixing it with the professionals on here.

I'm not quite sure I follow all the rules but keen to give it a go.

Its pretty simple CE; ever in doubt just ask on here.

As you see from the posts after your, 2 long term bets - detail the odds and the firm offering them. That has to be done before first game.

Then in the group stages, you have 20 bets, 5 must be involving the team you get drawn. For ease, number them as you go along. They can be done in batches, not all at once. You can then quote that post and do summary of lose or win and a tally of your winnings. Stigma will help with that if unfamiliar.

That's probably more complicated then the official rules.
