Khan’s assessment about the fight was shocking. On that performance, he gets battered by Brook and Pacquiao. Now I don’t expect him to say that but to say that the overhand right by Vargas that fooored him was “one hell of a punch” is ridiculous. It’s a good punch against Khan because he paws with his jab and leaves his glass chin out on show. A Brook or a Pacquiao would counter that punch.

Brook v Khan will be a mess of a fight and one that Khan clearly doesnt want. Can Brooks eye take Khans early round speed and volume; can Khan's chin take any power shot from Brook. Khan just wants the biggest name and I can see him falling out with Matchroom if he doesnt get his Manny fight. Cannot see how Brook boils down to 147 again.

There is the world title and his history with Manny as well. Which is more personal and less opponent and British public driven. In his shoes I would want manny pacquiao. If he needs the cash there is also the chance the brook fight is still there even if he loses to pac man (albeit as both end in convincing ko loss I think that is questionable). His chin is weak, but I think that honour goes to David Price!

I think GGG will win on points as the aggressor again, with Canelo being cagey and trying to edge it.

My heart says Govokin breaks the drugs cheat by round 8, the head says Canelo on points. I hope I'm wrong as I love watching Golovkin, but I think time might be catching up with him. And i'm usually wrong.
Fun undercard as well. Might even write off Saturday night and watch most of it. Gone are the days I could stay up or run off an hours kip.

I think if Golovkin takes more risks and goes to the body he will win and definitely stop him. If he fights the same cautious fight Canelo could nick it on points. I think not having to make the IBF check weigh in anymore should give GGG more energy as I can't think it helps him at his age.

I am in the minority that scored the fight fairly comfortably for Canelo last time out. Not Adelaide Byrd comfortable but i thought his work was just more effective, skilled and he landed more power shots. I thought he was excellent defensively and countered brilliantly.
I do however feel some sympathy for byrd believe it or not. Despite the outrageous bullying she has subsequently received. I said at the time many of the rounds were very very similar and if you preferred the type of work one fighter was doing then you could make a case for scoring it fairly convincingly that way. I do plan to watch the first fight again though before saturday and it's only a distant memory i am working from. The big difference now is the fact that i want Triple G to win. Really want him to put the cheat in his place. However i suspect canelo will win a points decision. I think the last few rounds he had sussed Triple G out and i don't think despite triple G being the more come forward aggressive fighter during the contest he ever looked hurt. I think the man with all the improvement and tactical adjustments to make is canelo. I don't think triple g can bring anything different, he can't be more aggressive. So despite not wanting it i think canelo wins. It's a fascinating fight though and the only outcome that would genuinely surprise me would be a canelo win by stoppage. |

I think Canelo will be less powerful as a presumably clean athlete and that will outweigh GGG getting on a bit, but it will be very tight again. They really do detest each other. Going to be epic.
I thought GGG won the first but I also think he probably lost to Jacobs.

Can't believe Bellew is really going to fight Usyk. Can't write him off but I think he is very unlikely to win.
