I'll be surprised if he plays at Swansea. Clubs normally have a mutual agreement that the player doesn't feature in these circumstances.

For Premier League to Premier League loans, it's a hard and fast rule, not a feature of the particular deal. But the rules may be different for other competitions.

You are probably right, however from our point of view and integrating a new player in to the team, this round of the cup was probably a game we were keen for him to start in. If there isn't a deal already in place saying he can't play we may be reluctant for him to miss this match.

Yeah it's annoying (and bloody typical) as he almost certainly would've played. I just can't see it now.
