Now I may be wrong, but growing up in England is it not pronounced "Per-sall"?

Apparently it's pronounced "Per-seal" here.

Does my head in - although probably the correct pronunciation if I'm honest... we English do tend to talk funny (well me anyway)!
deffo "persall"

Per-seal that's some Americanism like aloominum etc

Percil? What's Percil?
Shirley you don't mean Persil?
If you do then there can be only one way to pronounce it: Persil.
(The '...sil...' bit comes from silicate)

Harp stays sharp to the bottom of the glass
Or time for a sharp exit? Time for a cool sharp harp!

For great lager, follow the bear

Carlsberg, probably the best lager in the world

Heineken, refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach

Holsten Pills, guarantee all the sugar turns to alcohol
