Gave it another bash today. Managed to get the hang of easy locks. Had to use good old YouTube tips but it seems that turning the lock quickly whilst roughly hovering the sweet spot is enough. Wandered into a random shop near the apothecary and found a chest of books upstairs. Stole and flogged the lot for 300 coins! Will that come back and bite me later?

Also completed a couple of quests including the executioner and his ring which has got me in with the millers. Also completed archery and sword training against that noble twat. He beat me by one point on the bow but I bested him with the sword. Might make contact with a scribe to help me learn to read or visit the bailiffs to start helping about town. But before that i settled down into some random tent for the night.

To be honest they weren’t great but at least showed the movement required. It was a comment that gave me the real insight. The need not to rotate the lock slowly and try and maintain the sweet spot dead on but to rotate at speed with the sweet spot hovering as close as possible to the location required. This was enough for easy locks but I doubt will see me successful with harder ones.

Also starting to get the hang of pickpocketing! I’m turning into a right thieving bastard!

Great fudging game.

Been churning out kremlin levels of poison.

One. Bottle. At. A. Time.

Spread it all over my arrows and sword.

Still got bundles to start poisoning people's food.

Bit worried i'm becoming some calibre of sociopath.

I have been away from medieval Bohemia as I've had ALL my gaming time and them some on Sea of Thieves.

I got an Xbox one X at the weekend and have dropped back in and it's still a really beautiful game, but the combat is impossible when you've been away and aren't playing regularly.

I suspect that when rdr2 drops, this will be shunted further back, so I probably won't pick it up until the dust has settled on that. Definitely will finish it though. The game has a lot of charm, but it requires a deep involvement and commitment of time, which I lack. ( Been banging SoT from ten pm til the wee small earlies on a regular basis.)

It's a shame none of these games came out last year, when I bought zero titles, but it's great to see console come alive with them.

I'm exactly the same. You really need to dedicate a lot of time to get good at things and I just really don't have the time. It's a shame as it really is a beautiful piece of work.

It really is.

Having said all of the above, I just spent an hour on it before tonight's match.

Been mashing Cumans.

Great game.

Thought I'd dust off this thread and post again about my adventures in Bohemia.

I have literally just completed the Main Quest following the siege of Talmburg. Did I avenge my family? Did I get my sword back? Did I kill the whoresons who ruined my life? No! I guess this has been left wide open for a sequel.

Whilst some might find the ending a little bit of a let down I still think it is one of the best games I have played. It is beautiful, brutal and has a steep learning curve yet is hugely rewarding. Some of my highlights include:

- Keeping Pebbles throughout. I was on the verge of buying a new horse but I actually felt a hint of guilt as I hovered on the purchase button. As a result, Pebbles remained my trusty steed for the duration of the game and managed to get me out of a few hairy situations.

- Capon's quest in the bathhouse. Not only did I have great fun getting smashed with Capon but at the end I stole his sword (one of the best in the game) and waited patiently for it to lose its 'heat'. I now use it as my main weapon of choice.

- Being a monk. I don't know why, but I loved being a monk and living the strict regime. It might be because I am a stickler for routine and am definitely a bit OCD in the real world so the lifestyle appealed!

- Beating Runt! I failed so many times trying to murder that git in a swordfight but in the end managed to defeat him in under two seconds! A swift arrow to the face (a very lucky arrow) ended the fight immediately. What a hero... nobody needed to know.

- Screwing over some jumped up executioner for Herman (Rattay's executioner) by totally sabotaging his gear. I almost double crossed the double crosser for some extra coin but in the end it was more amusing to watch him foul up each of the three executions.

I am sure there is much more to see and do so I am going to continue exploring the land for the time being and eagerly keep my eyes open for a sequel.

Zareba, I couldn't read all of your post in case of spoilers when I finally get back to this, but I'm glad it's not just me who became to attached to pebbles. Nice work!
