Since making his Premier debut against Leicester, Guaita has played 8.5 Premier games (counting the half where he came off against Watford) conceding only 5 goals and has had 4.5 clean sheets.

In Hennessey's last 8.5 Premier games he has conceded 16 goals with 2 clean sheets.

He conceded 3 against both Brighton and West Ham mate.

Both away from home and the whole team, including the defence, played crap against Brighton. Fact remains his matches were against far more difficult opponents than VG so, comparing just based on 8.5 matches (and no breakdown of the opposition), does not tell the whole story.

Even in those games, he has made saves Hennessey could only dream of making.

You just have to see the Watford game when the team went from solid and comfortable to shitting themselves when Hennessey was on. It is totally telling.

Really is bizarre that people still blindly defend him when he's been complete toilet for most of his Palace career....

Ironically the best keeping performance this season was probably Jules vs Spurs in the cup

So the penalty wasn't down to our defence not being solid and comfortable? My point stands that over the 8.5 matches played Hennesseys were against harder opponents than Guaita as a whole. As for saves I would point you to Hennesseys against Lukaku.

Hennessey had the harder matches. I think Guaita has done well since he came in but has made mistakes. I think he is a better keeper (on the evidence so far) but it would be nice if people would treat both keepers equally when it came to both praise and criticism.

I think we need to value them both. We have two decent keepers and Speroni also proved against spurs that he can be relied upon when needed.

Guiata is clearly No 1 and rightly so. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t value Hennessey who can be relied upon when needed.

Wayne has become an average premiership goalkeeper which considering he has been a total dogshit goalkeeper for most of his time with us shows some determination and improvement. However Guaita is clearly a far better goalkeeper and deservedly number 1.

Surely there's no real debate is there? Guaita is better in all areas particularly his movement around the box. Guaita makes me feel safe, Hennessey doesn't.

This is all silly now.

We have a clear first choice keeper. It’s clear who that is. He’s performing well.

We have a backup keeper who has an appropriate level of talent for a back up keeper for a lower mid table team.

We have not been able to say that for about five and a half years, so happy days.

At the opponents ground you would expect far more pressure and therefore more goal attempts, especially in things like a London derby against a top half side.
