It was a great assist that made the goal. Wilf wouldn't have scored without it.

His play looks encouraging, his personality in interviews seems slightly moody and talk of already fallen out with other players on the training ground is a concern..
So not quite sure what I think yet... |

I felt Ayew did ok yesterday nothing special as he looked he is still getting to know the role expected and needs time into gaining match sharpness, but when he is fully up and running will add good movement and guile also much needed pace and is capable of being a 10/12 goals a season striker. Will he be a better alternative for our Three Strikers in their current form is anybody's guess, but what alternative is there but to give him a go that he deserves and only then will we have the answer.
However crucially with Zaha starting to show his developing goalscoring potential and capable of scoring around 15goals does bode well, but we do also need other areas of the team to pitch in with around another 20 goals per season to make us competitive. |

Sorry what? He held the ball up and distributed to Wilf that much is fact but Wilf did the rest. So you aren't wrong but Zaha had to do so much more after.

Did ok but would have still preferred Sorloth to get a full 90.

He started to look good as the game opened up in the 2nd half, knows how to win a free kick which we as a team have always lacked.

The difference is Ayew holds it up and lays it off quickly. He also has a lot of ball skill.Benteke invariably either nods the ball to the opposition or gets dispossessed taking too much time to try to play someone else in.
We need to give Ayew a run to see what he can do. |

I think he'll become a decent player for us. At long last we have a striker who moves.

Totally agree. What message would it send to the strikers if we play AT upfront and have two fit strikers on the bench/squad. |

Thought he did well for his first start. Defo better than the hopeless for over a year benteke.

Ayew knows if he works his nuts off... it automatically puts him ahead of CB... anything on top of that is a welcome bonus. Having someone who will stretch the defence, run the channels will get the best outta Wilf.

True, and I also think he is capable of the scoring the type of goal wilf scored (though not perhaps the dribbling that preceded it) as we saw last season. I think he will start to chip in with goals if given a run in the side, and is a lot better on the ball then people seem to think, even if he isn't at Wilf's level. If we aren't starved of possession like yesterday that is.

I thought he worked hard all match. Ran some good lines, made himself available to receive passes and balls from Hennnessey and got into the box when we were attacking.
Closed down, chased and harried the Hudderfield defence all at a superior speed than we are used to seeing! Wouldn't surprise me if he got another outing next week! |

Last few posts all same truth, Ayew better in team than CB
