Well, if that's the case, I think it would be a pretty good bet that Freedman and Parish weren't aware of it when they signed the loan deal!

Loved the way he made something happen in the box. Watch him move towards the ball to force the issue, then got the shot off at the first opportunity. I wasn't expecting such an impact but he looked sharp.

The way he demanded the ball and glided across the 18 yard line was seriously impressive, not to mention that fantastic piece or skill for the goal. He has to be first choice striker - it's just a question of who plays alongside him.

I'd like to see Benteke and Batshuayi up front, with Wilf and Townsend wide, for home games at least. That is serious attacking threat. And then we have Ayew and Sako to use from the bench if needed.

Great to have options but for the first time in a very long time it looks as though we have a predator in the box.

Clearly in his cameo role he showed what we have been lacking in our Centre Forwards, his movement and eagerness in wanting the ball has been just what we have lacked, but he also added subtleness to his play. Unfortunately in CB and CW we have centre forwards who base their game mostly on power with little finesse, so to see Batshuayi produce that exquisite bit of skill which led to the goal was a joy to see for us fans.
But we must also remember this was just a few minutes of game time we are commenting on what follows in the weeks ahead will tell us a lot more of what he will bring, i have no doubts he will be an excellent addition should he join but for now we need to ensure we stay up and Then plan ahead.
However how Roy plays him will prove interesting, does he see him operate as lone striker or alongside another? personally i feel if played just behind Benteke will make Palace a much more potent attacking force i am sure.

He was a bit inno mans land for the aimless balls forward. But don’t worry, Benteke will lap those up. Those quick feet along with Zahas are going to cause defenders major problems

Maidstoned Eagle has cup tied him because he played in the Copa Del Rey - despite UEFA changing the cup tied rules for "all European competitions" in March 2018 - so I guess we'll just have to go with that.

My lad and i were chatting after the game and the last striker we could think of that could make things happen in the box was Clinton, he'd love having his back to goal, defender in tight on him, drop a shoulder dummy one way move the other and get a shot off
