Batman and tekkers side by side or one playing deep with wilf and andros crossing from the wings and Meyer slotting thru the middle. I like that!

PvA needs to sort himself out, but would rather persist with him because once he finds his form again, we'll be so much more dangerous.

It's a bit attack minded, but both Townsend and Ayew work very hard in defence so think we could cope.

Love to see that Luka and Kouyate should be enough to protect the back4. Wingers with 2 men in the box, love it.

Roy has a serious problem. He generally stays loyal to the players in the team but with Kouyate and Zaha (I do think he will get another ban though) potentially back he is going to have a headache on who to drop:

Ayew had his best game for us and was arguably MOTM

Schlupp scored and played okay

Benteke looks lean, fit, determined, had a decent enough game.

Batshuyai appears to be the striker that suits our system best. So I will call it:

Guita

AWB-Tomkins-Sakho-PVA

Mcarthur-Luka-Schlupp

Townsend-Batshuyai-Zaha/Ayew

Subs:
Hennessey
Dann
Kelly
Kouyate
Meyer
Sako
Benteke

I can’t see Roy making many changes from a winning team especially as those players who came into the side either scored or were in the running for man if the match - he will surely respect those who produced this performance; even if many may we think they are not possibly the best 11 at the club - they deserve to retain their berth - the only exception might be either wilf imo but I suspect he might get an extended ban, or Kouyate to the midfield...

That doesn’t mean however that he won’t feel able to change things, especially if things don’t go according to plan...

So, knowing Roy’s usual cautious nature, I expect him to keep it tight, with his usual compact 2 x banks of 4:

...............Guieta
Awb....Sakho....Tompkins....Pva
Townsend....MacArthur.....luka....schlupp
...........ayew.........Benteke

With options off the bench:

Hennessey, dann, Meyer, wickham, Batman, ward/Kelly, sako

I for one can’t wait to see the following start a match:

...............Guieta
Awb....Sakho....Tompkins....Pva
Townsend....Kouyate....Luka....Zaha
.....Benteke......Batman

But is suspect the West Ham game might come too early for the Batman; Roy likes his players well drilled in his shape and positional awareness but maybe he will surprise me....

One thing for sure we have the strongest squad we have ever had, Ayew who played great could be out of the team if Zaha is ok to play, of course RH will be level headed and not gamble. Wilf may be on the bench even if he is clear to play it’s not a bad thing as he must learn to keep his cool.

It will be interesting to see how AWB gets on against Anderson this time - he’s the only wide player to give him problems so far this season

Batshuayi - Benteke

Hennessey, Kelly, Schlupp, McArthur, Meyer, Sako, Ayew

This first 18 is very harsh on a lot of players, I donít think Roy will line up this way. But I see it as our best team.

Ayew probably doesnít deserve to be dropped, but Bats and Benteke will rip defenses in half. Harsh on McArthur, but Kouyate and Milivojevic work so well together. Harsh on Schlupp, but Wilf is on a different platform. Harsh on Dann, but we need space on the bench, we donít need 2 centre halfís, and Kelly and Schlupp are so versatile.

I imagine if Kouyate is still injured then McArthur will play, and if Zaha is still banned then Schlupp will be in. Also, I have a funny feeling Roy wonít drop Ayew just yet.

Agree with every word. Also feel for Wickham. I hope even the naysayers can see what a great squad we have now.

If Zaha is available, it will be interesting to see if Roy is willing to play him on the left in a 4-4-2. He expects a lot of defensive work from his wide players in that formation (look at the shifts Townsend puts in) and to date he's always looked for a way to pick Wilf without placing that burden on him.

Having said that, that's where I would play him - with Benteke and the Batman up front.

Only one of Luka or Kouyate to start so we can play the extra midfield player to create chances, both can play v the big teams where we will have less of the ball.

Anyone suggesting that it's not fair to drop Ayew for Batshuyai after his performance on Saturday should remember who we were playing against. It was Fulham with the worst defence in the Premier League having shipped 55 goals so far. He still didn't score and we didn't score from open play while he was on the pitch for 80 odd minutes.

Just don't see our strongest as having Luka and Kouyate playing next to each other. They effectively do the same job.
Have to have a creative player alongside Luka in my book and Meyer always looks an infinitely better player in the centre of midfield
