Schlupp for me. Kelly excellent too - including a memorable covering tackle 2nd half. Meyer cameo also superb. Townsend, PVA and McArthur below their best. Ref had a shocker first half and looked to even things up in the second. Can’t believe WHam had no bookings though.

Toss-up between Kelly and Schlupp for me with a special mention for the very tidy and influential Meyer when he came on. Overall good team performance.

Random thoughts in no particular order:

McArthur is fading fast. He tried hard but his end product is so poor. PVA needs to be benched.

Some lovely link up play between Wilf and Max.

Referee has some serious questions to answer!

Here we go, I am not too unhappy as ugly we would lose and it is more fun to come back and draw than lose the lead and draw.

Guita 6 - mistake for the penalty, but put in a poor position by PvA. Caught almost every thing else.
AWB 7- always good, the yellow card so early caused him to be less aggressive in the tackle for the second half. Play him as a winger at Doncaster, so he can practice going forward.
PvA 4 - absolute donkey these days. Multiple times again his clearance and passing went straight to Whu. I give him the 3 as he did have a decent shot or two.
Kelly 7 - again didn't let us down. I am glad he got the nod over Dann
Sahko - 7 solid again.
Luka 7 - got the team pushing up in second half, a couple of really good long cross balls also. Needs to cut out the deliberate stupid fouling though.
McArthur 6 - worked hard but another pointless booking and missed 2 one on ones, the second will be shown around the world in YouTube and provide much amusement.
Shlupp 8 - decent game, was the forward spark early on and provide some good passing and possession in 2nd half.
Andros 6 - not his best game in a while and Whu targeted him to close him down with 2 or 3 players each time he got the ball.
Benteke 6 - worked hard but still off full fitness.
Wilf 7 - grew into the game and did score. Controlled performance and not a hint of whining.

Subs: Batman 6 - no shooting boots today. Missed a sitter
Meyer 7 - changed the intensity of our attacking, with quick feet and quick passing


Roy: 5 - good point in the end, but should have the players shooting in practice.

We do need to be more nasty as a team. The West Ham players were making meals out of every challenge.

Then there is us who plod along being Mr Nice. I know it’s not really the way but if you can’t beat them, join them.

There was some guy almost foaming at the mouth at the end of the game ) I am not joking!), about what a waste of space Schlupp is, how Hodgson is a dinosaur etc etc. I calmly disagreed with him and said I thought Schlupp had a very good game. I thought the guy was going to implode - it's strange how we all see things so differently

Apart from the miss, I thought McA was terrific today. Schlupp was much better in that role behind the striker. Out wide others are better, but he was very effective today. Wilf scared the life out of them. AWB & Townsend we’re both good on the right & linked up well.

Really upped the tempo & intensity in the second half and probably deserved more than the point.

The less said about the Ref, the better. Not impressed

Some of our play in the second half was top notch, and a joy to watch, but we must improve our finishing!!

Kelly as usual a superb partner for Sakho. Always makes some staggering tackles. Guita was a worry today and looked vey nervous. Feck knows what he was doing to give away the pen and needs to hold onto balls more than he does. PVA seems to have let some of his defending edge. Townsend also from being on fire very average. Benteke hardly given the ball so have to wonder Roy’s plan. Schluup very industrious. Fabulous goal from Wilf and good second half made him my MoM. Meyer was a revelation and should have been on earlier. Jimmy worked his socks off but the misses will colour what people think of him. Luka not as good as he can be but at least taking some reasonable corners. Roy needs to sort out his starting 11. Ref refused to book West Ham players and did us every time they dived.

We still play infront of them too much...we wait til its backs to the wall before we start peppering them.... its quite predictable.

We need to create more before the opposition score!!
