British pay rises have been as low as those in Greece since the credit crunch, the joint worst record in Europe, and policy is the main factor out of your list as the others also apply elsewhere.

Between 2007 and 2015, average British wages fell by 10%, while France saw an 11% rise and Germany 14%. Growth has been broadly similar. You can guess where the lolly went.

It would be interesting to see the numbers broken down by income bracket. I can't imagine that our top earners saw their pay decline by 10%.

Very true. To deny there arent at least 45% of them out there is dangerous though. Obviously they are a long way from another vote yet, let alone independent, of course.

That's rather disappointing. I fancy the Spanish figures would be no better than the British, though.

So basically we are keeping unemployment low by sharing work out? Or are we just keeping unemployment low by creating large numbers of low paid jobs that add nothing to UK output and will be slashed as soon as there is a consumer downturn? There really is no future without a trade or qualifications.

Whe won't, the UK was always voting out, it did. I don't know, I will weigh up my options when I know the facts.

UK governmemt policy is to grow the size of the workforce and to grow the % of the population in employment. It enables the economy to grow without causing inflation. A level economics.

Spain's rose by 3% over the same period, at least according to the OECD stats used by the TUC in its report.

As NKE says, the UK did better than most on job creation, but its poor productivity record suggest those jobs aren't adding much. Other evidence, like the boom in low skill self employment, backs that up.

Bang on

Eastern Europeans putting pressure on UK tradesman, basically the work is just being shared out amongst more people

Also alot of nothing, thousands and thousands of car washers etc.

High end immigration is great, low end immigration is bad for the local lower paid population

Ofcourse it isnt bad for the high earning dicks on here, all they are worried about is who will serve them their coffee, or who they can get to work the shit jobs for shit wages once we leave.
