It's not Swansea. Billericay is on the 19th, the same day as Liverpool away. I was going to Anfield but the chance to throw abuse at the Essex wide boy is too an opportunity too miss!

Mr Tamplin owner/manager of Ricay made his millions in waste and scrap metal I think.

You really have to look at the blokes twitter page to get some idea of where he is coming from!

According to To view the link you have to Register or Login, Billericay are also part-owned by a character called Mark Wright, a veteran of qualiity television like I'm From Essex, Get Me Out Of Here.

The story deemed worthy of today's front page is that he's sacked their cheerleaders, The Ricays (no, seriously). It must be one hell of a slow news day (or a lame publicity stunt). I wonder if they'll bring them a fortnight tomorrow at Champion Hill. Look out for a fleet of Ford Capris ferrying them in. Can they conceivably be more naff than The Crystals. Let's wait and see.

Again, it's not very Isthmian is it. I wonder what Edgar Kail would have thought.

BILLERICAY owner Glenn Tamplin has boasted of his rags to riches tale and how he had to remortgage his tiny home for 50,000.
The steel magnate, 45, now lives in a 20million mansion with its own golf course, swimming pool and fleet of luxury cars.
The devout Christian also has a chapel in the grounds and allows baptisms in his fishing lake.
The dad of five counts Towie star Mark Wright among his pals with the TV presenter also an investor in his non-league club. He denies ever being involved in anything dodgy, previously telling The Sun: I have never sold a gram of gear in my life nor have I done anything illegally intentionally.
His AGP Steel empire turns over around 5million a month and he is said to be worth 45million. Tamplin installed himself as Billericay manager in March. He has since made a string of high-profile signings, hiking wages to 30,000 a week.
He also once paid 45,000 for an op for a local boy who suffers from cerebral palsy.

30k per week - ask Farnborough how that turned out. Or Hornchurch. Or any other club where a spiv wanted to play real life football manager.

Dulwich fans will remember Erhun Oztumer. Great video of some of his goals from last season at Walsall.

So Dulwich storm into 10th place just 4 points behind leaders Billericay, Leatherhead & Harrow. An enjoyable local derby against Tooting & Mitcham on a beautiful day. We turned around a half-time deficit courtesy of a 6th minute penalty with a freekick that rolled under the jumping defensive wall and then a clinical drive from the edge of the area, both from Kenny Beaney.

A creditable 1866 in attendance which was particuarly good seeing as Tooting must have brought at least 30 fans with them. Enfield or Hendon bring a bigger and louder support than that; pathetic.

Saturday sees Dulwich's annual, futile, quest to progress out of the qualifying rounds of The FA Cup resume. Hastings United are the visitors at Champion Hill. They're one level below us in the Isthmian D1 South, loitering around mid-table so exactly the sort of team that will beat us as per-f'ing-usual. It still promises to be more entertaining than watching Palace judging by what I've seen so far this season.

... and against all expectations and precedent, Hamlet advance to the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round.

Trailing 0-1 to Hastings with just over 10 minutes to go, substitute Nana Boakye-Yiadom scored a hat-trick to secure a 3-1 win. The most dramatic, quick-fire, FA Cup hat-trick that anyone has seen in South London since Danny Butterfield vanquished Wolves in just 6 minutes in 2010. (Boakye-Yiadom only came on in the 69th minute too)

Nana might have taken 5 minutes longer to complete his hat-trick but in the interests of perspective, it should be pointed out that he was faced with the daunting opponent of part-time PE Teacher Josh Pelling in goal. Danny Butterfield only had to contend with some character by the name of Wayne Hennessey.

"Ooooh he's magic, you knooow...
Nana Boakye-Yiadom!"

(with a silent 'm' presumably.)

The draw for The FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round is ...

Slough Town v Dulwich Hamlet

Slough are in The Southern League Premier League (currently 4th, PLD:5 W:4 L:1) So it doesn't look too encouraging. Nevermind; definitely in with a shout. When I hear Slough, all I can think about is Betjeman and signs off the M4 when you're driving somewhere marginally nicer.

It's scheduled for Saturday 16th September when Palace are at home to Southampton so it'll be strictly for the tragically enthusiastic only.

Another beauty on Saturday ...

... from 01:18. (Although there seems to be a distinct reluctance on behalf of any Plymouth player to even attempt to tackle him.)

Damp & dull. 0-0 vs Hendon at H/T. Pretty one-sided.

Strange times. I found the loss to Hendon more unsettling than the change in manager at Palace. Modern football?

And as if this afternoon, let alone this season, wasn't crap enough already, let's have Dulwich winning 2-1 with 15 minutes to go in The FA Cup while down to 10 men before lamely capitulating and losing 2-3. That really cheered me up. Thanks lads. You useless sacks of shit.

Great 4-0 win against Leatherhead in our tenuous grudge match. It was 3-0 at H/T and there were over 35 minutes to go at 4-0 against pretty feeble opposition so we probably should have racked up a bigger score (which is what Man City fans were probably saying).

Sadly, Billericay continue to take advantage of their dubious financial advantage to widen the gap at the top with a 1-0 win over Tooting leaving them 7-0-1 after 8 matches. We're only 4 points behind 2nd place (Leiston) so it still looks competitive.

Anyway, upcoming fixtures ...

Tue, 26th Sept [A] Harrow Borough
Sat, 30th Sept [A] Worthing
Tue, 03rd Oct [H] Harlow Town
Sat, 07th Oct [H] Needham Market
Sat, 14th Oct [A] Staines Town
Sat, 21st Oct [H] Burgess Hill Town
Tue, 24th Oct [A] Merstham

No clashes with Palace/Dulwich home matches. Let's hope it's interesting because Palace's plight looks increasingly and unutterably depressing.

In desperate times, there's a wee bit of consolation to be grasped from events on the south coast for a change. A 2-0 win against Worthing (who play in Bognor for some reason) leaves Dulwich 3rd. Billericay didn't play. Hendon & Kingstonian both won but it's interesting at the top.

Code:
1 Billericay Town 8	7:0:1	22-4	21
2 Hendon 10	7:0:3	23-7	21
3 Dulwich Hamlet	10	6:2:2	17-10	20
4 Kingstonian 10	6:1:3	17-16	19
5 Leiston 8	5:3:0	14-5	18
6 Wingate & Finchley 9	6:0:3	14-9	18
Tuesday night's match at home to Harlow is off (FA cup replay) but there's a full schedule for virtually everyone else. Then Saturday sees Needham Market visiting Champion Hill with a top-of-the-table Billericay v Hendon clash at the same time. 17 goals in 10 matches! Bloody Hell !!!
