We didn't take the full allocation. We've only taken about three and a half blocks out of a possible six.

Hardly a good effort when we only took a small allocation in the first place.

Very poor behaviour from the administrative side of the club. The owners have lost money through lower ticket sales, they've alienated supporters and denied Palace fans the chance to see their team. The Board (whom
I suppose would be represented in this decision by the chief executive) needs to develop a more customer first policy rather than just trying to avoid any risk of unsold tickets.

Having travelled there once from Croydon to watch the match from the dizzy heights of 14 flights of stairs up, I applaud anyone for repeating that experience.

It’s an interesting city if you can combine your trip with a short break though.

Looks like a few extra seats have been made available in the gallery section at the front of the upper tier. There'll probably be a few unused comps available next week too, as happens a few days before most away matches. Often a good opportunity for those who want to make a late decision and are able to make travel plans etc. at short notice.

I imagine people are unhappy that a massively important game sold out 11 days in advance with a restriction of 2 tickets per person. And of course that the club never provide any info about allocation size, making it more difficult for fans to make plans. It does appear that they're now doing what they can to squeeze in a few more fans with a strip of seats in block J being added last week and now these gallery seats, but still the club has once again restricted its own away following by taking too small an allocation.

Away clubs dont get any gate money so lower number of away fans makes no difference financially to away club.

When they agree to take a certain amount of tickets, any unsold are charged to the away club. Madness i know but its how they do it. And its not like they can just ask for 20 more at a time. They have to take another 1k/1.5k and hope that they can get rid of them otherwise they're out of pocket.

Even more so these days with the restrictions on away ticket pricing. I bet most clubs hope others ask for a reduced allocation because they could sell the same seat for £20 more if it was sold to home fans instead!

Just to give this some context. If we had taken an extra 1000 tickets and none of them were sold (which clearly wouldn't be the case) that would cost the club £30k. We are paying Jordan Mutch more than that per week. The club does not care about the average fan.

Yes I know but liability for unsold away tickets only applies to additional tickets over and above the minimum allocation.
But I get general point which is away club cannot make money on ticket sales but could lose money!

I think that the club would get better value to take the extra 1000 tickets and burn them than to pay Jordan Mutch his wages!

V disapointed to see we did not take our full allocation and this is now sold out. Gutted. Should have got my finger out earlier.
