Have you missed my new Gholston. Taylor Mays, Safety, USC.

In fact, i'd trade 7 of our 8 draft picks to get the top 3 USC players in this draft. Mays, Maualuga and Cushing. Now that would be awesome.

Me and elliott had a good chat on Faceberk last night about Gholston as well.

BTW I don't love to slate LT. On his day he's a fantastic player and I'd sooner see him return to form.

I think he's a great player, just a shame he has been struggling to be fit for most of this season.

Am I right that Spoles is also struggling for this game?

I'm not saying he is a bad player either, Top 5 in the league when on top form.

I'm pretty sure that Sproles is fit though.

What is the game that Chester and Elliott are discussing on page 2, that Elliot recommends watching the last ten minutes?

Wouldn't mind trying to find that but don't know the game.

That was a great game. Not one for the ages though like the Pats/MNF upset (IMHO at least).

BTW I think that Boise State-Oklahoma game was 2007. I think it is the second oldest thing on my Sky+ (behind the Detroit-Miami 2006 Thanksgiving game, erm, what was I saying about games for the ages again?).

pauldrulez 10-01-2009 09:47 PM

I'm loving this match so far.

Tactical battle.

Lots of aggression.

Not the biggest fan of low-scoring games, but when they are defensive-led rather than 2 crap teams, its fine with me.

welshneil 10-01-2009 10:45 PM

GO TITANS!

elliott 10-01-2009 10:55 PM

Hmmm... Remember the Titans on BBC1 tonight.

Someone know something we don't???

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 12:25 AM

This game is just compelling. A total war, but if the Titans lose they have only themselves to blame with the mistakes they've made.

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 12:31 AM

Shows how crucial Chris Johnson has been. (cough) Rookie of the year (cough) although Flacco has been a great game manager.

Why did he run out of bounds there though. Keep the clock running.

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 12:36 AM

Very smart game by the Ravens. Don't miss tackles, don't turn the ball over, play smart. Only have to hold on for 43 seconds now.

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 12:39 AM

Ravens win (barring a miracle).

Great coaching job by Harbaugh.

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 12:41 AM

Excellent game.

Congratulations to the Ravens.

I think Johnson has proved to LenWhale why he was the number one back. Fat Bastard.

That was a well managed game by Flacco but he made the passes when he had to.

You dont make mistakes, you win. Bit like the old saying in Cricket: "Catches win Matches"

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 12:43 AM

No offense to Latvian.

But come on Arizona.

Part of my 3 team accumulator with the spread tonight. (Arizona (+9.5), Philly (+3.5), Chargers (+6.5))

San Diego Super Chargers. ;)

jj62255 11-01-2009 12:47 AM

Unbelievable the refs missed that delay of game :veryangry

Vince Hilaire's Afro 11-01-2009 12:48 AM

Shame to see the thread return to proper football talk rather than cheerleaders.

My wife was telling me about a scandal in Florida a few years back involving 2Panthers cheerleaders being discovered in a somewhat compromising situation in a ladies' room.....

Anyways, looking forward to the game in a little while & hoping the Panthers can repeat the job they did earlier in the season.

Sod those accumulator bets.

Depressing. Still, Charlton got themselves relegated today :p

Benzhiyi 11-01-2009 12:51 AM

What a ridiculous injustice that was.

Partly because the Titans completely dominated the game but kept squandering chances - three turnovers in the opposition half, Bironas missing that field goal.

And partly because of the awful call on 3rd and 10 when Flacco found Heap - great throw, but the play clock had long expired when the ball was snapped. An atrocious call given the circumstances.

jj62255 11-01-2009 01:12 AM

But apart from that atrocious non-call, Titans can really only blame themselves, how many times did they turn it over in crucial situations? Shocking really.

And what was Fisher thinking in the first half, going for it on 4th instead of kicking the fieldgoal? That really cost them. Nice defensive battle throughout though, however much i detest Ray Lewis :hmph:

EDIT: Oh and Flacco stepping out of the endzone, they really should have challenged that

They got one last week too.

At the snap of the ball (which was after 0 hit), there were 3 men in motion (all three receivers, 1 at the top, 2 at the bottom).

A dreadful no-call. Fortunately it went incomplete, but still...

Guess who's in a f***ing bad mood this morning! :veryangry

All season we've revolved around the running game so we come to the post season and Jake "The Saviour" Delhomme decides to try and throw the ball to Steve Smith pretty much every single play! :sob:

I'm really disappointed! I thought we could have at least made the superbowl! But last night was just embarrassing, and also highlighted what I've been saying all season that our Secondary is awful!

I'm a big fan of Delhomme but last night was the WORST I've seen him play! Good luck to the Ravens who I will now be backing to win in Tampa! :p

AddiscombeEagle 11-01-2009 10:25 AM

:lux: :lux: :lux: :lux:

I don't know how we did that, but what a match.

I went to bed afterwards and couldn't really work out how we pulled that off. Thought Flacco did really well, his composure is tops, should develop into a player when he is allowed to throw a bit more.

Did someone mention that Flacco stepped out in the end zone, I must admit that is what I thought as well and I maybe completely wrong, but isn't that a safety?
They never repeated it, so haven't seen it since.

Also, what a great hit by Ray Lewis in the first half. Ouchy.

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 10:54 AM

He was in the end zone still.

And the delay of game wasn't in the last two minutes of the half.

Re-watching the Cards game.

They are awesome in the first half.

I knew Arizona (+9.5) was way too much.

jazman 11-01-2009 11:35 AM

What happened last night? Went on MSN for like 5 minutes and the Cards just racked up the points! Mental!

Latvian Eagle 11-01-2009 12:40 PM

Jake Delhomme fumbled as he went to throw the ball recovered by the Cards inside our own 20, and then in pretty quick succession threw two INTs, one when we were within the Cards 20! It was horrible to watch!

Latvian Eagle 11-01-2009 12:43 PM

I think these stats pretty much sum up last night...

Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
J. Delhomme 17/34 205 1 5

Rushing ATT YDS TD LG
D. Williams 12 63 0 31
J. Stewart 3 12 1 9

saxoneagle 11-01-2009 01:38 PM

Poor, poor Panthers. Didn't even show up. Can't even blame the O-line - they gave Delhomme pretty good protection most of the night. IT was just poor throws, not rushed, hurried throws which led to picks.

jazman 11-01-2009 02:51 PM

I have a feeling we could have two upsets on the cards today with the Eagles and Chargers winning ... I did tip the Steelers earlier in the season but I have a doubt that they are a big game team and the question marks over Big Ben taking one too many hits ...

jazman 11-01-2009 02:52 PM

Jay_eagle 11-01-2009 03:42 PM

jlmatthews 11-01-2009 04:01 PM

Made money on the Ravens game and lost it all on the Panthers. Zona has played like absolute shit anywhere near the east coast this year. I dread the thought of Philly winning and letting them host the NFC Championship game. They don't deserve it.

Oh, and come on Steelers!

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 04:01 PM

I'll stay on the Cards bandwagon.

Delhomme. The Cards knew something about him. They had a step on all of his throws.

They have a pretty good run Defense which everyone knew about during the regular season. But, their pass Defense has stepped up a hell of a lot more.

EEEEEEEEEEAAAGGGLLLLEEESSSSSSS.

Anyone but Pittsburgh and the Giants to win it all.

Cards vs Chargers Superbowl. They were the two Outsiders at the start.

I think Rivers and Sproles will put some numbers up on the Steelers and then the Ravens.

Here's what I meant -- If Philly win, the game is in the desert because Arizona is a division winner and Philly is a wildcard team.

Not sure I agree with them not being a big game team, but I am a bit worried about tonight. Last time Ben was out with a concussion he threw 4 interceptions and was sacked 5 times against Oakland the following game. But a 8-8 team hosting the AFCCG just isn't right.

Would love to win so we can stuff the Ratbirds for the third time this season though, although I would have rather played the Titans

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 04:35 PM

From purely Patriots favours:
I want:
Eagles @ Cardinals.
Ravens @ Chargers.

Ravens @ Cardinals.

We move up to 23 in the Draft Order as Cards move to 31/32.

We keep San Diego's 2nd rounder at 14. As they move to 31/32 otherwise.

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 05:50 PM

To everyone who thinks the Titans were robbed last night, when were they going to score the winning points while racking up all those penalties and turnovers? They're part of the game and are the biggest reasons they didn't win. Crumpler and White's fumbles cost them six points, and thus the game. They have no-one to blame but themselves, the non-delay call could easily have been a non-factor had they just held the ball and kicked field goals.

Watching it live I thought he was going to do what Orlovsky did in Minnesota. Can't believe CBS didn't run a replay of it, as it looked very close.

(Apologies to Orlovsky, but it wouldn't have been as funny. He nearly ran out of the stadium.)

It really was unreal they didn't show any replays, I've since seen it on the net, and it does look like he stays inbound, but I still think it would have been worth a challenge at the time. Could have made it 10-9 and given the Titans the ball (which they most likely would have cocked up again though).

Baltimore / New York! ;) Interesting!

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 08:40 PM

Not going to be NY/Baltimore this time by the looks of things. The Giants offence looks terrible.

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 08:41 PM

Surely as they say on NFL:Gameday, the chart says "GO FOR TWO". 8 points or 10 points. 10 leaves you ties with a FG. 8 and 9 you are in no mans land.

I smell an Asante TD anytime now.

ardeo 11-01-2009 08:46 PM

Come on the Eagles.

1 point was fair enough as Eagles will feel confident at holding Giants to one score, and didn't want the chance of them only needing an 8 point TD to tie it up. Were not done scoring yet anyway :D

Strathclyde Eagle 11-01-2009 08:46 PM

8 points - 1 possession game.
9 points - 2 possession game.

No doubt in my mind that Andy Reid did the right thing just kicking the XP there.

BTW Arizona are just 13 minutes away from hosting the NFC Championship Game.

ardeo 11-01-2009 08:48 PM

Big stop there, and Giants with just 1 timeout now

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 09:02 PM

Chargers (+9.5), Eagles (+3.5) and Chargers (+6.5).

Come on Philly and San Diego.

ardeo 11-01-2009 09:04 PM

Should be a good game later.

Just a FG but should be enough, fingers crossed.

Edenbridge Eagle In Exile 11-01-2009 09:09 PM

C'mon you Eagles!!!!

pauldrulez 11-01-2009 09:09 PM

I was wrong.

I called an Asante INT TD. Not far wrong though.
