Now its dark in the evenings, drivers who use full beam in street light areas and those who switch to full beam before they've actually passed you coming in the opposite direction when out of town.

Don't need the money and will carry on working anyway but it's still quite irritating

How does that work? I thought you hit your Birthday, packed up your things and the pension arrives the next month! Does that mean I should be working until 68

Maybe an over reaction...but why is the BBC Sport website so overrun with news about Australia womens cricket...I mean, is it still part of our empire? ... what is our interest in this ?

In general, having worked overseas the BBC, i understood that the media is so focused on the English speaking world and in particular Music and Film are forgotten if its from eurpe. In Moscow, i was surprised how many people knew about Italian and French cinema and music....and they were shocked i didn't!!

Talking of footballer's thumbs, I don't really like Townsend's big over-the-head thumbs-up to a team-mate, either. It usually means he's just done something appalling with possession of the ball.

I wasn’t referencing FYP just for the record and the person I have in mind has consistently done it for a while now. But the name is irrelevant TBH as it’s the act of doing that which makes them annoying. Wont comment on any other suggestions or it will just become a guessing game. Sure there is more than one anyway :(

Did they? We let them promote their monetised service for free on here, and they sneer at the BBS. Interesting.

I suppose that’s not as bad as that user who had dreadful neighbours, was causing his family all sorts of problems and he couldn’t afford to move and we all chipped in to get him they money to move house, and apparently he was slating the BBS on another palace site.

think even before that there was a certain amount of sneering towards the bbs, it increased a bit when JD came in for a bit of criticism on the fyp thread and had a bijou flouncette.

Someone still scans the thread and then runs to tell tales to members of the podcast as I found out the other week when I made a comment 're Adam Sells, which I had already made.on twatter.

Although as part of my retirement projects I have organized into tote boxes and wall storage draws.

Lost track of the times I needed a nut, bolt and washer and found what I was looking for easy peasy.

Also never buy 3 screws (or the like). Always buy 25+ even if I only need one or two. Never fails if you buy 3, you will f~ck them up leading to a return trip to the hardware store!

Trying not to sound like CJ from The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin... "We didn't get to be able to afford it by giving money to a bloody senator in Georgia!"

Pedants. People with an inability to differentiate between when someone is joking or being serious. People who have to be right, every time, no matter what the subject matter or if others prove them wrong. People who have to have the last word, disparaging, demeaning or otherwise. OK, yes, I'm talking about Maz. He's not changed one bit on here. quite remarkable really. He must have been a leopard in a previous life.

No it's a scholarly piece. A study about you. I would wager that the majority of folk on here would agree with my assessment. You really haven't changed in what,17 years? It's like groundhog day. A trip back in time. Unbelievable really. i didn't imagine for one minute that you'd still be stalking these forums picking up others on everything from grammatical errors to facts about whatever the subject of the day happens to be. I'm literally shaking my head in disbelief!

So, you're having an argument on one thread, and now you're spreading it across the BBS on multiple threads.

I don't think that calling a slagging off of another BBSer a "scholarly piece" makes it any less of a slagging off.

Having had the painters in...my missus is well aware of the value of a good screw.

He’s actually saying that it’s WCB’s right to correct him (‘your right’) so Pallet is correct (well done Pallet)

But there is a missing comma (‘it’s ok, your right’). Sorry Pallet
