When I sold my place out there it was 5% plus 21% IVA (VAT) |

Looks like the average UK is 1.2% plus VAT. Big difference on a £250k plus sale |

Having arthritis in my thumb joints... I can hardly hold a pen or pencil these days.
Always prided myself on my neat writing, now it looks like a 5 year old did it. Also was working on a woodworking project Monday, thumbs have been killing me ever since. Sucks getting old. |
I was irked yesterday with the various life things I put on a couple of threads.
Calm, retrospective and forward looking now. Mostly, just trying to extricate myself from Santiago and have nothing left here. Family of course, but the onus is on them to visit us should they wish. Bank dragging it's feet, trying to do our best for the three kids and their kids, and push them out into the swimming pool of life without just throwing them in. The usual thing most parents do to 25 year olds. But we don't have that kids going away to another city university thing here. We had two 30+ year olds move back in. :sob::eek: The hippie kid (black sheep or at least grey) has no forward planning and we have accepted that is for life. The daughter won't act on removing themselves from the flat paid for by her parents-in-law, and they have the cash. The oldest son is starting work in a college again. That last one is extra crazy. He got his pay off in November, applied to all and sundry with no answers due to the uncertainty with the virus. There is still uncertainty, but BANG five colleges have offered him jobs in two days, as some are back presencial and others are online for a month. He started at one school on Monday, and left that yesterday to start at another school today. That sounds dizzy, but he was offered a job at his son's school near to home so there are all kinds of advantages. Difficult to avoid burning bridges. Add in a phone call from the department of education where we live on the coast offering work and it is all crazy. He got two more emails from other schools today for urgent starts. A week ago his inbox was full of tumbleweed. I told him to put aside a couple of hours for yoga sessions to pinpoint his mind. For me, best let it all wash out for a week or so, and see what decisions we can make from there. |

Quite how the Grauniad decided this smug git was a good pick for the Opinion section is beyond me. His latest hackle raising waste of publishing space being one of his worst. Judging by the comments, I'm not the only one overly irritated by this twat. |

The copper bracelet is option. I've seen a lot of people wearing them, but at this time I would say I'm a skeptic. I've been taking Glucosamine supplements and rubbing in CBD cream on the joints (maybe I should just be smoking joints). Helps a little but not completely pain free. |
This is a bad one : i can no longer see the option at the bottom of these pages to select threads! Is this me being thick?

I take turmeric, glucosamine and cod liver oil every morning and its done wonders for joint pain in my knees. |

½ cup turmeric powder 1 cup water ⅓ cup raw, unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil 2-3 tsp cracked black pepper Boil the turmeric and water before lowering the heat and simmering until it turns into a paste (this should take 7 to 10 minutes). Add the pepper and oil after it’s been removed from heat and cooled down, about 10 minutes later. I take the others as tablets/capsules. |

In the latest of my series of annoying ways to hurt myself, I've developed a strange and unexplainable knack of accidentally dipping my finger(s) in boiling water when cooking.
It's a distantly related cousin to my long running series entitled 'This pan that's been in the oven at 400 degrees for three hours should be cool enough to touch without an oven glove by now' |

I am not so stupid to reach for the ovenware in such a manner. What are you thinking?
I am so stupid as to think that grabbing the handle of an iron skillet that has been slow cooking wouldn't result in the same misfortune. |

TBF. they have only just started to come out with decent bread here, for the most part. I see our version of ASDA (walmart owned) stock lots of GREAT VALUE products that most come form England. They now have something called Kingsbury white sliced. Very much like decent toastable white bread. |

Right thread this time
First trip up the A3 in about a year. What a shit mess, it looks like a third world country with all the fast food litter, plastic and general detritus strewn everywhere. |
First trip around my old neighbourhood. Nice and green and triple dustcart visits a day. Not a piece of plastic in sight.

You can make playdough very easily, by the way - flour, water, colouring, salt, etc. - there are 'cooked' and 'uncooked' recipes out there - just google for 'playdough recipe'. |
People on the match day threads that say “I’m turning it off now or changing channels” - why do they think we need to know that? I don’t say “just going for a piss” or “be back in 2 mins, just putting the kettle on”.
|
Anyway - being subjected to day time TV the thing that annoys me today is, 'Steph's Packed Lunch'. What a pile of rancid dog wank it is. Please just stop it, and put on an old episode of Columbo or anything else similar which is infinitely more entertaining.

I'm guessing you are referring to me last night. I can only apologise for causing you such grief with my comment. As I said at the time, we were getting deeper and deeper and after 30 mins I had enough as I was expecting another backs to the wall alamo scenario. Turns out I missed a slightly more positive performance so more fool me. I do think mine was an equally valid comment on a match thread as 'Playing well atm !' but I guess those don't cause you such anguish |

I have no idea if it was you or not. It happens every game with various posters. I just don’t get why people need to announce they have had enough of watching the game in a type of disgust. It’s a match day discussion thread to discuss the match being played and what’s happening on the pitch. I’m just not quite sure what people are expecting to get back. “No, don’t go” or “please stay”. I’m just saying, it’s not really relevant. |
