No Addai in due to Head Injury.

Just occured to me. What the hell am I doing awake at 4.10am, I have college on Tuesday and the effort of being able to get up for that is non-existant.

Oh well.

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 04:13 AM

Goodnight all, Morn will hopefully bring news of a Bears win and Brady being out no more than 6 weeks.

:sob:

jlmatthews 08-09-2008 04:30 AM

Yeah baby!!!

The Bears are back!!!

In all honesty, it was a great week to play Indy. Peyton hasn't been under center all preseason. Jeff Saturday is the anchor of the Colts OL and he was out. Either way, I'll take it! A great win to start the year.

Paul won't accept it until it's official :D

But honestly, it's terrible news for Tom and for the Pats. I'm not their biggest fan but you have to feel sorry for Brady.

I feel sorry for Brady. In any sport, you want the best players playing, and its a blow for the sport in general that the best QB wont throw a touchdown pass this season.

In terms of the Pats, its a disaster. Serious doubts over their superbowl credentials now.

jazman 08-09-2008 08:51 AM

Great result for Dallas last night. After all the hype I was wondering if it would end being a damp squib. Very impressed with Felix Jones .... he is going to be a star this season without doubt.

Awful news for Brady and the Pats. I haven't seen what happened but they were discussing it last night. Randy Moss saying it was a cheap shot but the guys in the studio said they couldn't see much wrong. I hate seeing top players getting injured (or any player come to that) as in a lot of cases the whole team suffers because of it .... Hope it's not as bad as feared though ...

AddiscombeEagle 08-09-2008 09:18 AM

Bad news for Brady.

Good start for the Ravens to the season, who said they would definitely finish bottom?

Really enjoyed the Saints Bucs game, hope there’s plenty more like that this year.

Don't start with the :( faces, or that rubbish about 'wanting the best players to play'. I don't. I just want my team to win and the teams I don't like to lose.

Do you think Bill Belicheck felt the same way when Miami lost its best player last season? It's professional sport. You take whatever advantages are given to you. There are 31 coaches and a whole ton of cornerbacks who are secretly rejoicing right now.

Blog entry on this coming tonight. ;)

John Madden: "The entire NFL is devastated by this tonight."

IDIOT.

The Gene Upshaw thing is devastating. Tom Brady getting injured is absolutely not.

Jake Delhomme is back from injury now, and already throwing TD passes! :p

It's a shame because I like watching the best players and wouldn't wish any injury on any player

But it does feel like a bit of karma though because the Pats are a bunch of naughty cheating gits :)

nookiebear 08-09-2008 10:13 AM

And I have a seat at the 50 yard line at Fed Ex next Sunday.

I look forward to seeing Brees pick apart my beloved Skins' secondary all day :) :(

Completely agree.

Patriots fans saying this is the worst day in our history.

I think last February ranks higher, we were no longer the best, no longer invincible, the worst day to be a Pats fan in a long time(well about 10-15 years)

Strathclyde Eagle 08-09-2008 11:17 AM

See, I go to down sarf for a wedding for the weekend and all hell breaks loose. :D

Glad I didn't waste any of my wedding anniversary watching the Fins. There's a long way to go before they regain any goodwill in my books.

Also glad that Sky aren't getting any more money from me than is absolutely necessary. Any additional highlights on Five US or anything like that tonight?

Personally I don't have much of a beef with Brady. He's a great leader, and I don't wish injuries like that on anyone. The ACL thread in gen chit-chat is a long tale of woe which I wouldn't like to go through myself.

Which isn't to say that the Monday night where we repeatedly threw him to the turf isn't one of my favourite Dolphins memories, because it is.

Oh, and given that the Fins aren't winning the Super Bowl while Wayne Huizenga has breath in his body I also want the Cowboys to win it this year. :D

And if there's any sort of luck out there at all, you can guarantee that the Pats get it. They fluke so so much!!!

I agree with Ben. If you want to see injuries, compare the fins team that started last year, to the one which ended. Injuries are a part of this sport, and at last New England were the unlucky losers.

I can't believe I had Forte on my bench last night. What a shocker.

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 11:22 AM

Why people hate New York. Why do people try and celebrate injuries to people. The future HoFer who came out of the 6th round to lift a depleted team to small victories. Well O'Connell came out of the 3rd round, can lightning strike twice.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/09082008/img/back090808.jpg The next Jets fan I see (and amazingly I have seen a few shirts around), I am going to walk over the person and knee them in the crotch. Its also amazing that that idiot Schefter is being so much credit since a month ago he said that Favre was about to sign for the Vikings despite the Packers saying he wouldnt go to a team in their division. He is a jackass.

I now hope that should the Pats struggle, then the Jags do well.

Couldnt you win by enough anyway lol I had Brady for christs sake, and that idiot RB from Seattle.

Hmm, losing a Super Bowl or:
1) Finishing 1-15 (just about in your lifetime, I think).
2) Threatening to move to St. Louis.
3) Being owned by Victor Kiam (almost certainly before your time, but there's lots of fun for you there on YouTube to discover I'd imagine).

He liked Remington so much he bought the company. He thought so much of the Pats he only owned them for three years. :lux:
