I've heard some odd stats flying around, but apparently the difference in money from pick 32 to 34 is quite a big amount against the cap. No idea if true or not though.

Also I don't mind this trade as much anymore. Vrabel was about to be cut (big bonus due 2nd March), but we kept him away from the divisional rivals as well as Mangini and sent him to a team that needs a defensive leader.

I'd also like to say i'm happy with our signings.
Taylor - great signing.
Baker - better than the other TEs we have.
Bodden/Springs. JAG corners, but can compete with Hobbs and the 2 2nd year corners.
Lewis - Well, I'd rather get a rookie in the 2nd round to compete with him, but oh well.

Overall, I'd say the AFC East has improved. Every team.
Bills get Owens, but this could all blow up in Edwards face. He had a great start to the year, but fell apart with injuries and the cold.
Jets get improvements to the Defense. But, they have no QB.
Dolphins haven't lost anyone but have gained a few players including Wilson.
The Pats have gained a few players, but have the most crucial player back in Brady. But there are needs that need to be addressed.

You are right on the money between a first and 2nd - it can drop quite a lot.

Another point is length of contract. Only first rounders can be offered 6 year deals. Often, teams 25-32 stretch their picks in the first round to take advantage of this, leaving potentially better players at the top half of the second round.

I like Conor Barwin from Cincy at 34, I'd strongly consider him at 23.

Hopefully Bill can pull some players out of a hat, and he has the cap space to sort it.
