We're taking an 11-5 team and adding Brady, hopefully. Fingers crossed.

Its funny you say about the one of the few part.

I've heard some odd stats flying around, but apparently the difference in money from pick 32 to 34 is quite a big amount against the cap. No idea if true or not though.

Also I don't mind this trade as much anymore. Vrabel was about to be cut (big bonus due 2nd March), but we kept him away from the divisional rivals as well as Mangini and sent him to a team that needs a defensive leader.

I'd also like to say i'm happy with our signings.
Taylor - great signing.
Baker - better than the other TEs we have.
Bodden/Springs. JAG corners, but can compete with Hobbs and the 2 2nd year corners.
Lewis - Well, I'd rather get a rookie in the 2nd round to compete with him, but oh well.

Overall, I'd say the AFC East has improved. Every team.
Bills get Owens, but this could all blow up in Edwards face. He had a great start to the year, but fell apart with injuries and the cold.
Jets get improvements to the Defense. But, they have no QB.
Dolphins haven't lost anyone but have gained a few players including Wilson.
The Pats have gained a few players, but have the most crucial player back in Brady. But there are needs that need to be addressed.

You are right on the money between a first and 2nd - it can drop quite a lot.

Another point is length of contract. Only first rounders can be offered 6 year deals. Often, teams 25-32 stretch their picks in the first round to take advantage of this, leaving potentially better players at the top half of the second round.

I like Conor Barwin from Cincy at 34, I'd strongly consider him at 23.

Hopefully Bill can pull some players out of a hat, and he has the cap space to sort it.

As reality TV goes, I like the look of this ... shame it won't be shown over heret though ...

Irvine = Legend :p

jazman 12-03-2009 12:17 PM

And we have signed safety Sesabough (sp?) from the Jags ...

I like what we are doing so far this close season, signing players in positions that we need and players that appear to be team players ... this whole new ethic for the Cowboys ... :D

Looks awesome.

Eddie Moten will win though I think. He's a good player.

It won't last! :p It's not the Cowgirl way!!

pauldrulez 12-03-2009 06:17 PM

They cant be worse than the Bungals ;)

They go out of their way to sign the players with the most arrests in the league :D

Watch their draft this year, they'll sign a murderer, a thief, a terrorist and Al Davis.

saxoneagle 12-03-2009 11:16 PM

So, I have joined the waiting list for a Broncos season ticket.

The list has some 28,000 names on it and the estimated waiting time is 12-14 YEARS

Looks like I'll have to buy separate match tickets when I eventually wind up in Denver!

:(

This thread must not die a death.

I'd like to officially open The CPFC BBS NFL Thread Hate week.

One day this week, we will have a day to insult a certain player or person named by myself.

Monday: Terrell Owens
Tuesday: Tom Brady
Wednesday: Joey Porter and the Miami Dolphins
Thursday: Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys :hi:
Friday: Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots (the words "field" and "day" come to mind here)
Saturday: The Pittsbugh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday: Roger Goodell. As well as Adam Schefter's face and Mike Mayock copying Mel Kiper's draft analysis.

Hopefully, this can bring some life to the thread and I reckon there are 2 days that may have some incredible bile towards them :D

jazman 15-03-2009 09:21 PM

I don't do 'hate'.

pauldrulez 15-03-2009 09:26 PM

I do.

How about 'dislike' ;)

jazman 15-03-2009 09:30 PM

Too much hate in the world so no need for it on here if I'm being honest.

pauldrulez 15-03-2009 09:40 PM

Well, at least I got someone posting on here again as the thread slowly slipped down the World of Sport page... ;)

I'll give my reasons of dislike for each one rather than going through everyday.
TO - drops too many balls, bad attitude.
Brady - get your arse to Training Camp this year.
Joey Porter - that scene against the Steelers in 04. And he predicts a Phins win every time against Pats ;)
Dallas Cowboys - Circus
Belichick - God.
Patriots - Turn them damn cameras off
Steelers - Why cant we have a D like them?
Eagles - No hate from me really.
Goodell - Jets fan.
Schefter's face - too smarmy for words.
Mayock - (Mayo to the Patriots, Belichick on Patriotscam) Bill, i've loved Jerod Mayo since the start of the Draft and i'm glad you agreed with me.
Note: Mayock had Mayo at 30 or 31.

I'd just like to mention another of the new generation of QBs. The whiney crybaby ones.

Jay Cutler.

The guy who asked for a trade when McDaniels was hired instead of HIS Coach.
McDaniels then listened to an offer for Cutler and he cried about it.

Which is why this picture that is doing the rounds is hilarious.

Why have a hate day for the Eagles? Were lovely, everyone likes the always the bridesmaid never the bride teams.
