Well, you could actually say that the current Favre sucks.

He cost the Jets a playoff spot last year.

They were 8-3 after beating the Patriots and Titans.

How the hell do you end up not making the playoffs when you were 2nd at that point?

They won the 8 games with Thomas Jones running the ball. 5 games to go, then Favre got cocky, decided to be the gun slinger and cost them at least 2 matches. The Week 17 match was the worst QB display of the season and I include Dan Orlovsky running out of the end-zone and Sage "protect the ball and we win" Rosenfels running into 3 Colts and being turned into a helicopter.

Will they be better with Favre? Yes. But only if Favre keeps it in hand and allows AD to run ALL DAY long.

He's a gun slinger, end of. He's not there to just pass it to AP. I don't know much about the Vikings if I'm honest, do they have much at WR?

8. Miami & Saints - I'm sticking my neck out as saying that I think either of these two could go all the way

My thoughts on these

1. I think Culpepper will start. He's meant to have slimmed down and looks improved

2. Ryan, Yes I think he will. He's the real deal

3. Flacco, not so convinced. Is he dynamic enough to become a threat through the air? Not sure.

4. I'll sound biased, but I think Dallas will find it tough without TO. I think the Skins and Eagles have upgraded the most in the NFC BEast. I think three teams will go through to the play-offs from the league's toughest division.
But I have no idea which three. Too tough to call.

5.Vick - He'll be a bit part until very late in the season. He might be a game changer a couple of times. There'll be headlines, but not many. He's been out for a long time

6. Crabtree - wide receivers often struggle in year one, and he's missed a lot of camp and a lot of time learning the playbook, learning his routes, etc. He could have a very quiet first year, but his cocksure attitude means he could be the next Desean Jackson

7. Cassel - I think he'll be found out. He knew the system in NE and had great talent and coaches to help him through

8 Miami and Saints. I don't think either will win. Miami have a tough schedule and I'm not sure the wildcat will be so effective. Saints. Great offense, defense still a work in progress

I can't remember which tweet it was that said it, but it is true that Brett Favre's retirements don't say much for spending time down on the farm in Mississippi.

Great response fella, and very sensible thoughts. I really do hope however that losing TO will have the opposite effect on the Cowboys.

I'll follow through on Nook's predictions.

1. Culpepper. They'll ruin Stafford if they start him straight away.

2/3: Ryan has the intangibles that a star QB needs. Flacco, i'm not so sure about, but ready to be proved wrong.

4: I don't think 3 get through from the NFCE. Just because of the quality of the NFCN and NFCS.

5: Vick's impact. After his suspension, he'll have something to prove. But, i'm not sure how his agility or arm strength is now.

6: Crabtree. I doubt he'll start. Both La Canfora and Schefter saying that they are still a huge amount apart. Just get your ass in camp, if you do well, you get a big contract 2nd time around. Considering DH-B has sucked in Oakland, he only needs to be decent to prove Oakland wrong.

7: Cassel. I think he'll fail now. Didn't before, do now. No Gonzalez, Bowe being an ass, no quality at TE, already knew the OLine sucked. At Denver, in the system he was familiar with. He'd have done very well. KC, not so sure.

8. Miami/Saints. I think the AFCE is going to be the hardest division to get out of this year. A hard schedule. Will struggle to get a wildcard spot with teams like Bengals/Ravens, all 4 AFCS teams and the rest. Saints though I think will be in there. Defense has improved a lot, depends if it clicks.

Oh, missed out Dallas.

I think it depends on how much pressure is put on Romo.

If Barber, Jones and Choice stay healthy. Then I think they improve.

If they don't and Romo needs to sling it to Williams and Witten (and Crayton/Austin) in December to win games. They aren't going to do it. They need to get a good start this year. If they don't, it could be a long year.

But, D-Ware. Contract year. Massive, Massive year ahead for him. Uncapped year. Guaranteed money, off the charts.

Finally,
