Watched the game this morning - what a way to start a season. I liked what I saw in both QBs. Titans obviously keen to not be so one dimensional on Offense. Titans special teams cost them the game. Roll on Sunday |
I missed parts of the game as my Sky went down and then my internet went down (fecking typical).
So missed bits of it. A statement to discuss. Cortland Finnegan is one of the top 3 Cornerbacks in the League. |
Watched most of the game, as having some computer problems. Was a good battle of defence most of the game. Big Ben really loves to pump fake, literally at least one on every single pass play.
Was a bit crazy from Hines Ward the fumble at the end. Was 5 yards from the line in hte middle of the pitch looking for the TD, and was stripped by someone coming in on his blindside. Commentators were saying it would have been better to run the clock down and take the FG anyway. Can see why both teams did so well last year, especially on defence. Titans absolutely shut down hte Steelers running game, they never looked like getting anything, while Chris Johnson made things happen for Titans with some good cut backs. Lendale White made some good gains too. |
Rewatching the highlights now without bleary eyes. HD is amazing.
Love how Gage offered the ball to a Steelers fan who got all excited and then Gage snatched the ball away. Oh, how I pissed myself. |
Thought Chris Johnson looked superb although I only watched it up till half time, is it me or does the bloke have a nervous twitch?
Thought Big Ben was shit in the first quarter, picked it up in the second and then by the sounds of it had a decent second half, 363 yards, 33 completions is very good. Steelers running game was as bad as any game last season, lacked anything, totalling 36 rushing yards is terrible, not sure if it was the Titans with good rush defence or Steelers just being really shit at running I suppose we'll see as the season goes on, I hope it picks up as I have Willie Parker in my Fantasy team. |

The guy looks like one of those (I can't think of a polite way to say what i'm thinking) fat, camp, gay men who get excited about anything.
Which made it 10 times as funny. |

Definitely one of the top 3 CBs in the League. With Nnamdi Asomugha and ??? I'm at the Half. How the Titans didn't win this game, judging by what i've seen. I'll never know. |
Covering my eyes and fingers in my ears ... I sky+ the game last night and watched most of the first quarter this morning so I'll be absent until I've seen it ... :p
|
Titans were the better side in the first half, the two missed field goals were probably quite big factors in the loss.
Titans DL had the better of the Steelers OL and so gave no room for willie parker to run, most of the time there were just no gaps or someone got through to make a clipped tackle. |
Story of the Steelers OL last season as well, you'd have thought they would address these kinds of issues in the off season.
|
They said it is more Ben's fault than the O-Line and that half the sacks are that he wants to extend the play.
They wont tell him not to, because he makes so many plays. Really enjoying my rewatch of the game. |
Who'da thunk our resident Clowneagles are even more sensitive than the BBS's band of Cheatriots?

:D
I think I predicted the lowest total of wins for the Pats on here :D I think Westbrook or Portis gets hurt this year. As in out for the year hurt. Into the latter half of yesterdays 4th Quarter. Kearse destroyed Roethlisberger with the sack when they went 5 wide. I winced when I saw it. I say that. I winced when I heard it. I was looking at my fantasy teams and heard a thud. P.S Javon Ringer. Worst Return guy ever. |
Yea that was a poor read by Ben, looked left, nothing on, starts to look right, gets hit.
Ben is at fault for most of the sacks rather than OL, but the OL should stand up more for the run game. Eagles last season protected McNabb well but weren't great for Westbrook. Especially like the Steelers on 3rd or 4th and short, which is the main test of an OL doing their job for the run. |

She's mental. Though she gives the other 31 teams some love, so not all bad. ;) |

I was going to leave the BBS for the night.
But I just got a reply from a possible NFL Hall of Famer. None other than Rodney Harrison. What a Legend. And one of my heroes. Also owns my favourite Patriot moment (other than a Lombardi being lifted) Rodney and Belichick embrace Rodney: Thankyou for believing in me (in tears) Bill's reply, I forget right now. But it made me choke up a bit when I first saw it. |

(Now I feel bad as I said Harrison should have been MVP of SB XXXIX, which I still stand by.) |
Great start to the new season. Like the look of the Titans even though they lost in the end ... Gage has already been mentioned but the rookie Britt was it? Looks tasty and he's not 21 yet ... Looking forward to tomorrows matches now ....
