Worthwhile. I listened to come of it during my lunch today in the office and I didn't laugh out loud but was smiling a lot .... :)

Makes me wonder, they refer to the UK and Sky a lot so are they based in here?

It depends on the player.

As soon as he gets hit hard again, then he'll truly know how his injury and his mind is.

He's only had 1 sack, but a ton of pressure.

That suggests he is twitchy and getting rid of the ball quick.

No, but they have been on Sky Sports a lot.

They are in LA. No team, therefore Steve supports the Cowboys and Jeff supports whatever team he picks out of a hat. Jeff is supporting the Saints this year, and looking forward to avoiding the Ellis curse on his team for once.

:D

Legends.

For me, it is the old Brady.

As in, the Brady that was like this in the 02 season. When he was trying to step up to the role after replacing Bledsoe. That was a team that relied on D to win games. And therefore didn't repeat in 2002. The team was turned over and a RB added in 2003 with a very good defense. That team won two in a row.

This week, Brady had virtually no time to throw the entire game. He had a running game. But, the coaches did not use the running game.

Let me run some stats by you.

100 - throws by Brady in two weeks
67 - plays in the Jets game.
65 - plays that had 3WR/1TE/1RB. This was Moss, Galloway (awful, cut him, bring in Nunn) and Edelman. Who this time last year was a College quarterback and is now a slot receiver. They played 65 plays each.

That is not a Belichick offense. When you run the same positions over and over again, a D gets used to the plays. There was also the stupidity of every player wearing a wristband with the plays on. Bill O'Brien (defacto OC/QB coach) and Practice Squad QB/WR Isaiah Stanbeck stood on the sideline with boards with numbers on, to show what play to run.

When a team makes that any changes to an offense in a week, it is hard, especially when you lose Wes Welker just before the inactives are announced and you have a 7th round QB playing WR. He lined up in the wrong place 50% of the time, meaning Moss was running around getting him in the right place.

The true Brady was the Brady that played in the 2nd half of the Buffalo game. I have the game on my computer and also have the Jets game. He threw about 10% of his passes in the Jets game with his front foot firmly planted. It was like Brady was playing one play and the Receivers were running the routes of another play.

Every pass in the 2nd half against the Bills was inch perfect. That was the 2007 Brady.

Until the 2nd half of this season (after the Wembley game/Bye), then I expect to see the REAL New England Patriots. When the defense clicks, Brady clicks with the offense and we get LeVoir off Pup and Brandon Tate off NFI to return kicks and be a legitimate option at WR.

But, until then, I expect him to struggle. He has no connection with Galloway. They are refusing to run the ball consistently. And no full back doesn't help as we use either Morris or Green-Ellis at FB and they barely push the pile meaning no converting 3rd/4th and 1.

I just hope that we are not too far behind the Jets when the Wembley game rolls around.

Man, I feel so negative.

Not at all, I was expecting you to comment and in all fairness I was sharing their and my own thoughts on here .. you will hear it in it's entirety when you listen to the podcast. They stressed they were not ripping into the Pats, they were simply saying it as they see it which I truly beleive they are .. and I can see it ...

So what you are saying is that Brady has to find his way again to being that star player like he did before. I agree that not all of the perecentages that QBs are rated by are all his own making, an awful lot goes down to the players that are recieving and the defense ... it's a Pats side that there has probably not been for sometime, one that has to sort itself out quick this season whereas in previous years they have just clicked back into the old routine ...

And I would not call you being negative, far from it .. you are not seeing it in rose tinted specs as I alywas thought you did. It's positive to see what you team are and aren't doing and thie weaknesses rather than just brushing it under the carpet and bigging them up all the time ... :p

Ta, I wasn't having a go at the start, more making a joke.

I worry for the season now, but when you look at the next 2 games. Atlanta and Baltimore. Both at home, you then see a young team with some aging free agents added and hope they click together by the time the bye has gone.

I'd take 4-3 at the bye, and from someone that predicted 12-4, that shouldn't happen.

Anyway, some more entertainment;

:D

They're great.

So glad I found their podcast.

And their website.

I really recommend listening to their draft review shows. They destroy Oakland so badly.

They also go on about the Empire. The New England Empire. :D. The :vader: soundtrack in the background is brilliant.

By teh way this season has started it's going to be some year for NFL ..
. I mean by that a lot of things have happened already that you would only expect to see once a season. Take the fantasy football. Week1 you have Brees and Peterson ripping it up so if you have either of them in your team you're pretty much guaranteed a win. Then in week2 Titans Johnson scores big points and the same happens, you would be almost guaranteed a fantasy win .... wonder who will have a big week this weekend? Praying it's one of mine ... ;)

I would do but now we're into the season I'll probably not get the time. Only have enough time to listen to the recap and preview shows ... Agreed with Swanny that the preview one isn't as good as there isn't much to talk about but what they do talk about I enjoy ... Also listen to Danny Baker podcast as he is back of Five Live in Saturday mornings and I relly enjoy what he does even though he is a M*llw*ll fan .. also the Lovejoy and Murray week in review ... After that I only get a small amount of time to use the ipod for what it's made for .. MUSIC!!!! :D

pauldrulez 24-09-2009 07:59 PM

When you get the chance, definitely do it. They're great during the draft.

It seems every analyst and his dog thinks the Lions are going to beat the Redskins this weekend

Is Brady sufffering because Josh has gone to Denver? Or does Bilichick call the plays?

The best Brady has looked was when he changed his own plays at the line against the Skins in pre-season. And then against the Bills when they were the 2 minute offense.

They went no huddle against the Jets and used white boards held up by Bill O'Brien (QB coach/new McDaniels/defacto OC) and our PS QB/WR Isaiah Stanbeck. They had numbers on that were about the plays.

EVERY Offensive player had a wristband on detailing the plays. Which caused no end of trouble with lining up.

Best move the Jets made was bringing in O'Connell as it forced every play to be changed.

IMO, Bill outcoached himself.

And he has thrown 100 passes. We HAVE to run the ball. We had 3 runs for first downs, then Maroney was dropped for -1 yard on first down and we didn't see a run from any of the backs for 3 series.

Brady = rusty. Coaching staff = bad decisions. Players = confuzzled.

I'm taking the Lions this week. But, I can quite easily see the Skins winning 40-10.

Browns should be on 0 and 16 watch.

They're terrible.
