Favre with a fantastic 80-yard drive with no timeouts, finishing with a touchdown.

Gutted for San Francisco though.

Strathclyde Eagle 27-09-2009 10:26 PM

nookiebear, I commiserate.

Strathclyde Eagle 27-09-2009 10:30 PM

P.S. Houston Texans, I hate you. Thanks for making me look stupid, again.

Can you imagine what it must be like to live in Houston or Cleveland, and see how generally the Titans and Ravens have done since they left town all those years ago?

pauldrulez 27-09-2009 10:42 PM

8/9 on the picks :lux:

Only the Texans made me look stupid.

Ouch for the Phins with Brown there.

pauldrulez 27-09-2009 11:15 PM

Nick Halling goes up tenfold in my estimations.

Calls Eric Mangini gormless.

Give that man an award.

By the way, 5 Cleveland players filed grievances against the team yesterday.

That's what happens when you give that guy full control. What a ponce.

Cheers fella

Just been catching up on Sky+ with the other games. Up to speed now

Will first off say well played Detroit. Stafford made some big plays, even an ugly dog has its day.

I think Zorn's done though. Ben and I talked about if Zorn should go if the SKins lost this game and we both said no, but I'm not so sure now

I think the rot has really set in and I don't think these players want to play for him

Why waste the rest of the season with a coach the players don't like who plays a system which doesn't suit the players

We've gone from a 6&2 start under ZOrn and now we're 3&10 since then. This ain't going to get better.

A Redskins team with Portis had 0 rushing yards at half time. That's not good.

Benzhiyi 27-09-2009 11:24 PM

Yes! Thank you, Nate Kaeding.

Strathclyde Eagle 27-09-2009 11:27 PM

Just remembered we're playing in San Diego and I've not made a single Anchorman joke yet. It isn't like I'm out of practice either, given that some came to mind when my mother-in-law spoke about my brother-in-law's new girlfriend (but that's another matter).

Boy, that escalated quickly.

Looks like Henne O'clock,,,

pauldrulez 27-09-2009 11:47 PM

Rules out Pat White for the rest of the game then.

And also shows what they think of him as a proper QB.

Re your second point, no it doesn't. They have faith in White, but Henne is the clear #2 right now.

Strathclyde Eagle 27-09-2009 11:54 PM

Can he throw a trident?

pauldrulez 27-09-2009 11:56 PM

I always thought that if your Number 3 QB came in before the 4th quarter, then #1 and #2 were not allowed back in in any capacity?

Commentary are saying that he can come in to receive a snap as a Half Back. I thought if you were out, you were out  Might just be the way I interpreted the rule is wrong.

Btw, this ref is looking nearer and nearer to death's door every week. Looks like a ghost

Strathclyde Eagle 27-09-2009 11:57 PM

Amazing how an undrafted rookie from Hawaii repeatedly shows himself to be more consistent and useful than a number one pick from the Ohio State University.

Not just saying this as a Fins fan, but that whole rule about which players can play and which can't are dumb. If someone is on the roster then they should be able to use three different QBs on three straight snaps if they so wish.

pauldrulez 27-09-2009 11:59 PM

Would you have taken Brady Quinn knowing what you know now? I think he was the other top player available at that point that you were considering (IIRC of course)

Two different roles though, isn't it. Not sure Bess could play the flanker role. Although your point is a fair one.

Strathclyde Eagle 28-09-2009 12:00 AM

At the time I thought he fell into our laps. Didn't think he was great, but probably was the best out there. Think he's in a bad situation in Cleveland if I'm honest.

No, because we wouldn't have got Jake Long and gone 11-5 a year later...
