Finally, I don't have to look for a shite stream to watch the Pats.

Go Joe and the mighty Ravens.

I'm picking the Ravens to win for a number of reasons.

1. We need to run the ball to get the pressure off Brady. I don't see Taylor getting 30 carries to get 100 yards. If the 5 backs combined can get 120-130 at 4 Yards per Carry, then I think we have a chance. But that is unlikely.

2. Our run defense has been average this year, especially against the shorter back. Screen passes have been a bit of a killer.

3. Brady and the non-Moss WRs just haven't put it together properly so far. I'd say Galloway is 2 bad weeks away from being Cut. He can't catch, he is now being booed by a crowd that is normally quiet and got ironically cheered when he finally caught a ball last week. Edelman doesn't know where to line up most of the time and catches about 50% of the stuff thrown at him. And the other 2 guys are Special Teamers. Promote Terrence Nunn :lux: And we have Brandon Tate off the Reserve List after Week 6 to improve the position as well.

4. We haven't put pressure on the QB this year. We've had a couple of storms through the line but mostly at the end of the game when they are throwing.

And finally.

5. I said at the start of the season elsewhere that the Patriots had 5 players that they had to keep healthy to do anything this year. They were Brady, Moss and Welker on the offense. Jerod Mayo and Vince Wilfork on the defense. Both Mayo and Wilfork are most likely out of the game. Welker will probably be out. Moss is still struggling with his back and Brady has been horrible anyway.

But, a few reasons why the Patriots can win.

1. The Secondary is very good. Especially at the Safety position and pretty good at the CB position. Especially Bodden. As well as our 3 young kids who have all stepped up to start at times. And the 3 Safeties have all but shut down Tony Gonzalez, TO, Lee Evans and Roddy White with the help of Wilhite and Bodden depending on the side.

2. Despite losing Wilfork last week, the run defense didn't decrease too badly and they did do what they aimed to do which was basically shut down Turner and caused a fumble as well.

3. Brady has been sacked once in 3 games. He is getting the ball away quick. He's taken some shots but he's got back up.

4. I don't think the Ravens WR's are a huge threat in the Passing game compared to the one's i've seen in the first 3 weeks.

5. The Ravens CB's are very very average. Keep the ball away from deep in the middle of the field and I think you can throw on them. But when you see the pressure, you need it out quick. Which leads to my prediction.

The key point is what happens in the Redzone. Patriots have sucked there. Ravens are best in the league at defending their redzone.

Ravens 19-16 without Welker.
Patriots 20-19 with Welker.

Weeks 5,6,7 of the Sky games

Week Five:
6pm - Cincinnati @ Baltimore
9pm - Atlanta @ San Francisco

Week Six:
6pm - New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints
9pm - Arizona @ Seattle

Week Seven (after DST changes, there is a weeks difference between the changes)
5pm - New England @ Tampa Bay - Live from Wembley Stadium
8pm - Atlanta @ Dallas

jazman 02-10-2009 10:27 AM

Glad I can finally watch Dallas this weekend ... after the last couple of weeks being late and Monday night games ...

Latvian Eagle 02-10-2009 11:05 AM

This month I'll be watching...

October 4th - Baltimore @ New England
October 11th - Cincinnati @ Baltimore
October 18th - Arizona @ Seattle
October 25th - Atlanta @ Dallas (Sounds a better match up than Wembley game)

jazman 02-10-2009 11:12 AM

Any thoughts on who may come over to Wembley in 2010?

I guess we can count out the teams that have already been; Fins, Giants, Saints, Chargers, Pats and Bucs ....

I guess it all comes down to who will forfit a home game ....

pauldrulez 02-10-2009 04:12 PM

I would like to see either Packers, Vikings or Falcons representing the NFC.

NFC North plays the AFCE next year. So, Packers or Vikings against Jets would be good.

Falcons-Baltimore or Steelers would be another one that i'd like.

Cardinals-Chargers.

Dallas @ Indy/Houston

Any of them would be nice.

ardeo 02-10-2009 04:25 PM

Eagles :)

Highly unlikely i guess as the bEAST is so competitive.
