The correct call should have been a completion short of a 1st down, with the penalty declined, and therefore the ball turned over. Pretty important three points gifted to you by the officials there...

Like I said, when we see an angle definitively showing where he went out, then we can't say anything 100% on that call. Maybe the official that side said he was in originally. Depends on what call was made, the commentators weren't making a fuss, and I generally assume they know what they're on about.
