BT Sport 1 has a 90 minute highlights show at 8.45am and repeated around lunchtime but nothing on terrestrial channels for non subscribers. Some reference to a shorter highlights package on the BT Sport App from 4pm that doesn't require a subscription but whether this is 10 mins or 30 mins isn't clear

12.00 - 1.30 Wednesday BT Sport 1 : "The Ashes", but can't see anything on terrestrial. :(

No, don’t think there is any terrestrial highlights.

I too have paid for a month of BT for £25 to watch 3 tests.

art malice 07-12-2021 12:35 PM

The Southampton game next week is on BT i think.

Gonna resist. Aggers and co but no Vaughany for me.

You're absolutely right. But curiously if you apply the cricket filter to the sports schedule on BT's website it only mentions the live event.

Aki Aki Aki 07-12-2021 01:33 PM

It looks as though BBC iplayer will be showing daily highlights

Worksop Palace 07-12-2021 02:13 PM

Looks like Broad or Robinson are going to miss out as well as Anderson (if Leech plays as expected)

Leaving out Robinson would be ridiculous, surely it's Broad or Wood if Leach is going to play. Even Woakes could be in some danger, although Robinson - Broad - Leach - Wood is a fairly long tail, so I think he'll be in for his batting alone.

Based on the Summer, surely Robinson is the first choice in terms of bowling. Looks like someone who can bowl accurate long spells. Hopefully he can be a real threat for us.

The beauty of an Australian Ashes is that when I wake up at 2am for two hours like normal, I actually have something to do

Big Blue Eagle 07-12-2021 02:22 PM

Forecast looks very stormy so Leach very possibly not in the mix.

Yeah. I think they'll go with 5 seamers this time.

Drop in pitches are an abomination.

stinky 07-12-2021 04:43 PM

Roughly what time will play finish tomorrow morning? About 7am? I'm weighing up a late bed vs early rise.

Late bed. Bottle of single malt.

Easy.

Brisbane is 10 hours ahead of the UK, So, 8-8:30am depending on start time and how quick they bowl the overs.

There is quite a bit of pressure on the SCG from the Winter codes to introduce them, thank fully they are ignoring them.

It's almost unique in Oz now.

I had it down as an earlier finish than that.

First session - 12am - 2am
Second session 2.40am - 4.40am
Third session 5am - 7/7.30am

No?

No?

I assumed a start time of 10;30-11, they must be starting at 10:00am

A 6 pm finish is 8:00am, I used that as my guideline.

Broad dropped. Leach in.

Big call that. With no Jimmy, surely you pick Broad? Doesn’t look like it’s going to take that much spin.

art malice 07-12-2021 11:18 PM

No Broad apparently

I managed to write No, just in time.

I may go to bed now but worry I will wake up to Smith nearing a century.

Anderson must be 55+ Maybe 60 by now ... he's been around for years.

Terrifying

Stats74 08-12-2021 12:13 AM

The key thing is Broad will be well rested for the second of the day-night Tests when we are 4-0 down.

cockneyrebel 08-12-2021 12:14 AM

You expect England to lose a wicket every ball.

GB2506 08-12-2021 12:20 AM

And another one. Off to bed. 2 down within 4 overs. Pathetic as usual

0.bj 08-12-2021 12:20 AM

Oh, Dawid

It’s the no-hope that kills you

greybot 08-12-2021 12:22 AM

Might get to see Root and Stokes bat before 1am at this rate.

ebyeeckeagle 08-12-2021 12:22 AM

I know it is supposed to be a sign of weakness. But with an undercooked batting prep, maybe a bowl first would have been sensible. Their bowling line up is tough.

Wolfnipplechips 08-12-2021 12:23 AM

The Warne, Gilchrist, Waugh combination is ******* atrocious.

Are they actually sucking each other off as they commentate?

Maybe. Not sure you need a run of games to know you don’t play at a ball reaching you at five feet high.

Stellavista 08-12-2021 12:27 AM

Off to bed early, I think.
Which is what England's openers appear to have done.

Ashes 2021

I like Aussie commentators. I know they talk a lot, but at least they have a modicum of a personality and sound like they’re having fun. Which isn’t surprising considering the start.

I’d take them over Atherton and Hussain.

adrenalin john 08-12-2021 12:35 AM

We won the ******* toss, in perfect conditions for Andersen and Broad to bowl so what do we do?

******* idiotic

cockneyrebel 08-12-2021 12:38 AM

:D the only reason this won’t be over in a day or two is the huge total the Australians will get in their first innings. Victory by over 500 runs?

greybot 08-12-2021 12:44 AM

Warne thnks we have a player called Jeff-ra Archer.

JJ 08-12-2021 12:46 AM

I was looking forward to having the Channel 7 window open on the computer to keep an eye on it while working. I missed the first 3 balls, signed in and we're 1-0 FFS. Hide the window and do some work, open it again and we're 3-11. Window now closed.

bunghole 08-12-2021 01:57 AM

Moisture in the pitch, moisture in the air, thick cloud cover overhead, so the spineless dweeb Pommy captain elects to bat first, because he was scared shitless of copping flak for not doing so.

You seriously couldn’t make it up.

History has long shown that when you’re trying to win a Test series away from home, you have to take some risks, otherwise you’re just handing the momentum and control of the matches straight over to your opposition.

Thnx for that spineless Joe, hope you enjoyed the session.

I suppose they may have just assumed that as it was Rory Burns, people would automatically know it was fvck awful shot.
