Spot on, that is the key to any team. All have aging stars to help the younger players along. There is no substitute for experience at the top level of any sport ... but particularly team sports. You cannot have a team of youngsters, that just would not win things.

I'd love to have seen Ray Lewis in Dallas. But, his age and even though he has been a great player you have no guarantee that woul dbe the same in the two or three years he has left to offer the game. Add that to the fact that moving from the home comforts of Baltimore may effect his game more than people think ....

But a leader is what all teams, we certainly don't seem to have one ...

So surely a 20-year veteran in Junior Seau would have more experience?

Why was Vrabel cut? What about Bruschi, Thomas who are both the wrong side of 30.

And, I didn't copy and paste anything so far.

The picture was actually a "Save Picture As" work rather than C+P.

Paul, don't take everything as a snipe at you. I was merely backing up Saxon's post. I don't claim to know an awful lot about the Pats contrary to what you post about them on here .... I concentrate on my own team mostly in my learning curve ... :p

Strathclyde Eagle 07-03-2009 08:59 AM

I don't know why the Pats would want TO. They have their deep thread (Moss) and the clutch/underneath/possession guy (Welker). Surely they're just looking for other players to compliment them, not undermine them?

TO will end up somewhere, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is with one of the 30 teams who don't want him. Even in the worst case scenario for TO a pre-season injury could create an opening for a desperate team somewhere to take him.

pauldrulez 07-03-2009 09:08 AM

The shot wasn't entirely aimed at you ;)

According to PFT who have been keeping a list of every team who have come out and said "no interest".

The Dallas Cowboys. (Duh.)
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.

The Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans.
The St. Louis Rams.
The New Orleans Saints.

:vader:The Oakland Raiders. :vader:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
19 teams out of 32.

Somebody will take him.

jazman 07-03-2009 10:25 AM

We have aquired DE Olshansky, the first former Soviet Union player to appear in the NFL ... anyone know much about him?

jlmatthews 07-03-2009 03:30 PM

TO's agent said there is already negotiations going on and that a deal could be done as early as this weekend.... or next week sometime.

Drew Rosenhaus does make me want to puke though.

He has a face you want to punch. TO does, too, incidentally :D

saxoneagle 07-03-2009 04:00 PM

I'm pretty sure that two of the teams that have said "no" are interested.

They weren't in the two I had.

jazman 07-03-2009 05:25 PM

:D Pissed myself laughing when Total Access discussion mentioned the Pats ... :D :D

But the team they favoured taking him on is the Saints ...

Strathclyde Eagle 07-03-2009 06:19 PM

Why would the Saints want to risk alienating the community that loves them? It could be a complete PR disaster.

saxoneagle 07-03-2009 09:40 PM

Vikings or Titans were my two favourites.
