I'd gladly pay that to not have to wash up a household's worth of stay at home cooking twice a day. If you're Croydon-area I'd happily take a recommendation assuming they'll come out at the moment and distance sensibly etc. Cheers |
I would be amazed if I have not mentioned him before on this thread but just in case, Colin Murray.

Rosie Jones. Sorry but she is just a box ticker. Takes forever to tell a joke (really not her fault) but is just not funny.

People who respond to a post with "well quite". You may think it makes you come across as intellectual, but to me it makes you come across as tediously pompous and patronising.
Question for those that do use this, do you say it to people in real life, where the chances are they would look at you like the faux intellectual twat you are, or is it just an internet thing? |
Indeed.

Has anyone watched Hinterland? Just started watching and the characters just seem to stare at each other for large parts of the time. They don't say anything, just stare. In real life one of them would say "what the f**k are you looking at" but they don't. I know it's supposed to be atmospheric but it means I've had to stop watching.

"I think of Rosie as being the Rose West of female comedy. By that, I mean that she is likely to die before she finishes her sentence". In the context of the event, it was ******* funny but drew a proper gasp from the audience. |

The BBC news headline this morning is the 100th birthday of Captain Tom.
The BBC used to report important news from over the world, now it is reduced to this pointless shite. |
Oh and Naga Munchetty. So fking smug .

I wouldn't suggest you put on ITV. |

They obviously have a brief to report and emphasise the less depressing news element during the crisis. sort of "cheer up it ain't all bad news, we're still plucky Brits, and at times like this the problems of the rest of the world don't matter so much". To be honest, I've stopped watching BBC news at the moment, purely & simply because they are not reporting all the news: everything is shot through the prism of the UK (and primarily England's) response to the coronavirus. I know it's the single most important issue facing us at the moment, but there are things - important things that will affect us sooner or later - going on elsewhere in the world, and I'd like to hear about them as well. |
The BBC is totally biased. Even the Panorama programme from Monday was a shambles. All the NHS staff featured have links to the Labour party. No balance at all.

The one thing I would love to see coming out of this is the NHS put into a cross party management, so it can't ever again be used as a political football. |

Petty, I know, but I've just listened to the new charity recording of "Times like These" and it's the singing method of many current singers, both male and female. That croaky, over emotional, forced, mumbly, baby-like way of "emoting" makes Chris Martin's last line of the song a haven of understated class. It just really annoys me.
But a great song and a more than worthy cause. |

I got called a wanker bys some Tory prick who thinks he knows everything because his wife works at the NHS. Strangely I have found that I get called these terms all the time, and many times others say the same thing and don't get abused in this way. I might have mentioned on that CV1 thread that the UK had more deaths than italy. I was accused of all sorts on that. I think another govt defender asked me if I could see in the future. I won't hold my breath waiting for any apologies. I saw a piece (albiet The Sun again) suggesting the Chinese CCP were sending their diplomats out to come down hard on anyone criticising them. Latest having a go at Australia for asking how the virus really came about. Apparantly that's a no no to talk about as well. Can't talk about them trying to position themselves to control the world. |
My ex wife was a midwife, I saw what she had to put up with. Flat cap tories do my nut in.

I took a look at COV1 the last couple of pages. They seem to be saying the same shit they were saying two days back. It's like a 24 hr news channel with nothing to report. The Tory backing deniers have got their control on it though. Best they stay there. |
Pete, I watched all those AEF videos to the end of the story as well. We have access to al the downloadables and videos for all the series.
I get given free Oxford online courses which is nice. Seriously, the next one coming up is Teaching people with Special Needs. I should walk that with my experience of the plums on here. |

However, I also found a lot of the videos are on youtube. |

Bored of people’s domestic backdrops in video calls now. Becoming way too forced. Plain black is the new plain black.

Ordinary people.
I expect to see them on u-tube and out-and-about, but it pisses me off seeing them in such large numbers on my television set. |
Avoiding all video calls like the plague.
Got invited to one by good friends that had to be organised around the clapalong. Mmmmm pass, thanks. There have been five or six with my team at work. Haven't signed on to any of them. |

The charities are going hell for leather on daytime TV currently, too. Ohhh look at them at home with a headset on in front of their bedroom wardrobe......here’s £10 a month to you all.....

The phrase the “new normal” which appears to be spoken by just about everyone on TV at the moment. I understand why life will have to be different for the next few months but none of what is happening, or will happen in the next few months, is in any way “normal”. And whilst I am sure it isn’t the intention, it does sound rather Orwellian.

For lots of people new normal will mean less money and hours wasted on commuting for the rest of their careers. It will mean less asthma for kids in cities as pollution is dramatically reduced and hopefully won’t spring all the way back. Plus it provides a really good excuse for not seeing family members you don’t want to for at least a few years. |

Elvis. They call him 'The King' but I've listened to his Greatest Hits today and it's just covers. Not an original work anywhere.
