Lagershandy is dropped and I think Crawley should have left that for Root, hope this drop does not cost us too much

Get in and Ussie is gone

12-3

ExiledStirling 14-01-2022 06:20 AM

I thought I had woken up but am obviously still asleep and in the midst of a dream. In my dream Australia are 12-3.

Olympian2 14-01-2022 06:33 AM

England bowling really well but Australia already 24-3. Probably enough for a 1st innings lead…

I set mine for 6.25, as I thought the session would be 4-6am. Downstairs with a coffee at 6.30. Turn TV on and they're walking off for 'lunch'.

Fuming

RazorsEdge 14-01-2022 07:48 AM

I am not laughing at the way lagershandy got dismissed as I had something similar happen to me in nets many years ago lol

Would have been 4 if not for dropped catch

stevek 14-01-2022 07:52 AM

Just got up - when I saw the score I assume it was England batting.

BBC live text are going mental saying how it's the most extraordinary dismissal you'll ever see.

Am I alone in thinking it's not that extraordinary? They're saying he got his feet completely tangled, fell over and then got bowled as a result. It doesn't look like it to me. The ball was past him by the time he 'fell over'. He just completely misjudged it, gets bowled and falls over. I'm not even sure he slipped. His feet didn't get tangled. It looks like he threw himself to the floor for some bizarre reason.

For anyone who hasn't seen Labushagne getting out, it was a cross between Burns first ball of the series and Wood bowling an effort ball.

Yeah, he was batting on off-stump and he planted his front foot another 2 ft outside off to a ball hitting middle <s> and leg</s>. The fall occurred as he tried to reach back for the ball as it was going past him.

He misjudged it pure and simple and some poetic license was taken by the bbc
