Nah - bin off Yorkshire because of racism and Lancashire for the sake of fairness. Then Surrey because of their coked-up Chelsea fans and Kent to piss off the rest of the English BBS cricket aficionados.

What about the toffs from Middlesex?

Does your parish now fall under middle sex or Surrey?

I forgot about them - they can cock off as well (despite the fact that where I live used to be part of Middlesex, with Surrey just over the river), although I wouldn't count the likes of Emburey or Gatting as toffs.

Getting is definitely not a Toff, but yes.

Cannot see the merit of Agnew's argument to replace the County Championship with The Hundred franchises plus 2 more.

Better to get back to a two league County Championship, but one that is actually player in the summer as opposed to one that is largely played in April/May and September.

Telegraph rather helpfully leaves the article content in the html, so if you view source and scroll 2/3 of the way down (or search for "England saved") you can attempt to read the text (or copy it out, remove most of the surroundings and save as an html file and read that way).

England saved their worst for last as they signed off a calamitous Ashes series in Hobart with their most shambolic collapse of a tour littered with contenders.
...
"One team meeting was never going to change anything," said one player present.

Clarke and Bohannon could be interesting.

Surprised they omitted Sam Cook of Essex in terms of the bowlers.

Pretty damning of the state of English cricket that only 1 batter among those has an average above 40 and 1 bowler an average below 30.

From the telegraph article:

One player refused to take part in the skin-fold test - a gauge of body fat - and, when pressed, accused England of trying to fat shame him. The test was never carried out.
Bairstow or Robinson?

Olympian2 18-01-2022 02:39 PM

In the same meeting, Jos Buttler told players they had to be patient at the crease, but he was out in the next Test hitting to deep-square leg on the stroke of tea. It summed up his tour.
