Playing Devils Advocate, you have to wonder why he fell all the way to the 5th round then.

Injury issues?
Character issues?
Over-rated play?
Not got a football mind?

It has to be something that teams spotted when they worked these players out privately, or interviewed him.

Well, as Ardeo said earlier in the thread, in Andy we trust. Im liking this pick more and more at the moment, more than Daniel what's his face we took in the 3rd round last night.

Injury issues would be the big one. Had knee problems last year. Some reports say he's more an athlete than football player and needs developing which is why I can see the Eagles trying to convert him to a strong side linebacker like we did Gocong.

Is there somewhere I can watch the Draft?

Swanny32 24-04-2010 08:52 PM

nfl.com but it's down to the dribs and drabs now, the excitement is pretty much gone now fella. Best bet is to go on the pats website and watch the videos of the people you have drafted, interviews etc.

Bellyman 24-04-2010 08:54 PM

Cheers mate

Just picked up Jamar Chaney moving up to 220. Quality backup to Bradley in the middle and predicted to go in the 3rd round! Best pick in the 7th by far.

This WR we picked seems ok, got a cool name as well, Riley Cooper! Sounds like a porn star.

Why did Brady go in the 6th then?

Yep a big WR is something we've missed and he can compete with Hank Baskett in our red zone offense.

Because he wasn't a starting QB for most of the time at Michigan.

He was sat behind Drew Henson.

The Pats had him as a 3rd round grade but went to fill needs in 3rd/4th/5th rounds.

It then came down to Brady or Tim Rattay, but the QB Coach at the time Dick Rehbein really wanted Brady and Bill took his word for it.

Anyway,

The point I was making was that Sapp was rated in the 2nd by media. But went in the 5th.

Brady was never highly rated by the media.

The guy you took in the 4th (ruffling notes etc etc)

Akwasi Owusi-Ansah, CB.

That's a steal. Decent Cornerback with good instincts. Good Kick Returner and can split returns with Felix Jones (who I reckon will be starter at RB)

Thanks fella ... sounds like we've done pretty well in the draft this year then. Some players who could make a decent impact hopefully.

I'm liking these clips ... impressive.

There goes the steal of the draft to the Rams.

George Selvie.

He was double-teamed so much that Jason Pierre-Paul shot up into the first round.

He'll have a better career than the guy that went 211 spots earlier than him.

Swanny32 24-04-2010 09:08 PM

Well, lets hope we can develop all these guys to become elite players in the NFL and help us to finally win us a Superbowl. I'm really excited by our picks after reading up on them, looking at their highlights videos and combine videos. I know a few of them will be flops and not offer anything to us but whilst they are in the green jersey of Philly I'll be behind them.

pauldrulez 24-04-2010 09:09 PM

Well, we've all got picks left.

Cowboys got 1 more.
Eagles got 2 more.
We've got 3 more in NE.

jazman 24-04-2010 09:10 PM

I'm loving the name as well. I think I have Paul-i-tis at the moment as I'm going to bang on about Akwasi for some time to come ... :D :D

pauldrulez 24-04-2010 09:11 PM

Go for it.

I'm delighted that names keep being picked and I actually know something about the players
