I doubt that the whole of Europe watches a Man U/Liverpool match.

You can also rule out most of North/South America. North as very few care about Soccer. South America are more in love with their own game and someone I worked with who travels there every year and is currently in Ecuador said that they spend a lot of time watching the Spanish/Portuguese leagues.

No EPL game would be anywhere near the worldwide audience of the Superbowl.

From 2007:

Worldwide figures (for people who watched the entirety of the event):
Superbowl XL: 97 million
Brazilian GP: 78 million
Champions League Final: 72 million
Rugby World Cup Final: 33 million

No mention of it anywhere.

Brady got slaughtered for it.

I'm not bothered, it's up to the QB if they do it or not, but I guess because Manning has the stupid face, the stupid commercials and the ****** brother, he doesn't get half the stick that the hated Empire got because Bill and Tom ran off the field.

I saw Manning with Brees after the game, before he left the field, have to assume the hand shake was done then. I know you love to hate the Colts but come on.

And to say 'Manning cannot play in the playoffs' is ridiculous, and shows you up. This year, he was awesome in the playoffs until quarter 4 last night. It wasn't a choke job, it was 1 bad pass.

Why does there always have to be a scapegoat anyhow. Why does last night have to be used to criticise Manning rather than praise both sides for a great game, and especially New Orleans who deserved their win.

Far too much bitterness in your posts Paul, calm yourself down.

2006:
World Cup Final - 260m
Superbowl XL - 98m
Opening ceremony Winter Olympics - 87m
Champs League Final - 86m
Brazilian GP - 83m

Fair enough, I was pretty drunk at the time, thought I saw them together, obviously not!

Average is being kind Mick. Though they did improve a little during the set, they started out like a couple of old boys fecking about at the old people's home.

The criticism of Manning is not about the playoffs veresus the regular season, its about the Big Game. He never won a Championship in High School, never won a Championship in College, (his team won the first year after he left with an inferior team), went 0-4 against number one rival in College, won a Superbowl in a squeaker against the great Rex Grossman and the Bears.

He fell apart last night when put under pressure. He is an overrated gutless Tennessee W@nker.

:D

Who are the Colts fans blaming?

You can't blame the D. They held the Saints to 3 Field Goals and 2 TDs plus the 2 point conversion.

Only the Cowboys held them to less this year in a game where the Saints were trying.

They went away from the run when it was working. And we know who calls the plays for Indy.

No-one. Why's there always got to be someone to blame? Saints played well. I'm not going to go making scapegoats. We had a great season and as gutting as last night was, you can't win them all. The whole team can play better than they did last night, it's not all on one guy. Congrats to the saints.

Blimey, the Lombardi Trophy has changed shape over the years...

Super Bowl is bigger than any other sporting event on the planet other than the World Cup Final.

If this is the case, why may I ask did you make the comment in the first place.
What is in it for the defeated team to hang around?

May I ask, when was the last time you started a play-off game

I'm not the people who called Brady a sore loser in 2008.

FWIW, Manning could have kicked Brees in the nuts and wiped his arse on the Superdome for all I care. But all we've heard this week is about him being a Saints fan and his Dad being a Saint etc. Could have shown a bit of respect to the organisation and shook his hand.

Just watched the 2nd half after falling asleep just as half time arrived in the early hours .. I was struggling a long time before then ... even at 8pm listening the the Fighting Talk podcast .. yes, it was that kind of week last week ... :D

Anyway, very enjoyable game. I managed to avoid the internet and anyone possible talking about the game to me .. a few fingers in ears moments but I made it home not knowing the result.

Great effort from the Saints, they just did what they have done all season. Payton has balls to call some plays he did and the team carried them out other than the 4the down in the 2nd quarter. The Colts didn't have enough about them last night the longer the game went on ...

Someone check my predictions for the game please ... ;) :D :lux:

A very enjoyable end to a very enjoyable season. NFL is has now become even more a part of my life than ever before .... The down side is, no NFL for too many months now .. :sob: :sob: :sob:

Love it.

Meaning to go back and check our predictions from March, lets see what we have :p

pauldrulez 08-02-2010 09:17 PM

Our predictions from before the Draft in April:

Saxoneagle: Falcons to beat Chargers. Lions-most improved
Jazman: Saints to beat Dolphins. Raiders-most improved.
Benzhiyi: Ravens to beat Redskins. Niners-most improved.
Strathers: Ravens to beat Eagles. Packers-most improved.
Ardeo: Eagles to beat Steelers. Bengals-most improved.
jj62255: Vikings to beat Texans. Chiefs-most improved.
AddiscombeEagle: Jets to beat Cowboys. Niners-most improved.
Me: Patriots to beat Saints. Chiefs/Broncos-most improved.

Might as well do the same questions again now the season is done.

What is your teams favourite play?

The best play of the season?

League(not team) Moment of the season?

Your Team MVP?

Your overall League MVP?

Biggest Disappointment in the NFL this year?

Superbowl 45 winner?

Runner-up?

Most improvement in a team in 2010/11?

Write away and i'll bank them away for the start of the season.
