Shame, he was just starting to play well too.

Guess he's the turd that everyone thought he would be.

Complete waster. I think other teams will see that even Belichick couldn't 'tame' him, and that will be his lot. Expect him to spiral out of control and turn up in the mugshot gallery numerous times over the next few years.

However, bad though it was, his swiping of a credit card between a waitress's cleavage did raise a chuckle.

And as for Fat Albert? Who knew

That's what will happen.

He blew it up with Fisher.

He blew it up with Shanahan.

And now he's blown his one chance with Belichick.

Not only for the incident, but for his final 3 plays in a Patriots uniform.

1. Stands up, gets pancaked to the ground.
2. Gets a push, then pancaked to the ground.
3. Gets pushed 10 yards back on a huge run.

That was when he was pulled out and the argument began and was still going on as the remaining D left the field.

Maybe it's because I see more of Sanchez than the likes of Ryan and Freeman that I underrate him.

For me, it's not the talent around Sanchez, it's the fact that he misses the deep ball by a distance every other throw. His intermediate passing is poor for a 3rd year QB, but his short passing is very good.

Maybe he thinks too much on the longer passes, but his inconsistency on the longer throws are what holds the Jets back from being a true SB contender.

Maybe, that is why when we hit the cold weather and the playoffs, he's a better player.

There's no doubting that he's clutch when needed though, and some of his throws are incredible, the fades to Edwards and Holmes in 2010 to seal games were clutch to say the least.

Stop saying that guys who have played for 5 minutes are great just because they MIGHT be. Let's concentrate on what they have done not what they might do if the stars align.

Any rookie, 4 or 5 or even 9 games in does not even come into this equation as far as I'm concerned. Anyone can have one decent season and anyone can have one bad season but, right now, I wouldn't pick any of the rookies over Sanchez. End of story.

What they have done so far is surely taken into account? Or is this like the draft, where we have to see where they are in 3 years? Because if we're looking at that, Sanchez is even lower on the totem pole.

Taking a look at the rookies,

Newton has taking the most inept offense in the league and should have them 4-4 or 5-3 in what is one of the toughest divisions, but has no defense to help him.
Locker hasn't started.
Gabbert hasn't looked great, but has no Receivers to speak of bar Mike Thomas since the Jags have committed Marcedes Lewis as a pure blocker.
Ponder has 2 games where he's looked like an alright QB.

Dalton has looked the best, but he has AJ Green and a few other Receivers already. But his poise and throwing has been very good
Kaepernick, Mallett and Stanzi are yet to play.

I think that's about it. Personally, Newton and Dalton have looked more effective as a "taking the team on your shoulders" type of QB. Something that Sanchez has rarely had to do from what I've seen. Not that it can be said as a negative though

Merril Hoge big call:

Just finished my weekly study of the packers offense and it's more clear now than ever this offense Is the best I've seen in 25 years

Sanchez has 7 fourth Q comebacks and 9 game winning drives in 2 and a hlaf years. Or did the D and WR do that on their own? Oh, and most of those drives have been on the road.

Regardless of what happens for 55 minutes, if you're team is close and you can get them the win, that is all that matters. The W.

For reference, Josh Freeman has 9 GW drives, too. Stafford has 4.

Ryan, in a year more, has 10 4QC and 15 GWD and Flacco has 6 4QC and 10 GWD.

Of the 5 QBs drafted in 2008 and 2009, which one of the five would you want in a clutch situtation?

Dalton made a big-time QB throw this week. Green was running a stop and go and as he made his move, Dalton fired a bullet over a dropped-back linebacker and between the CB and Safety. As Green turned around the ball was right on time and Green made the catch. It was a throw he never had to make at TCU, so I never imagined he could make it.

I have a caveat here.

Yes, 4QC make you clutch etc, but had the QB been impressive earlier in the game, would they have been in the situation where they need to score to win?

For me, of the QB's named, if I was given 1 choice for 1 drive to save my life, I would take Stafford. If I had to rule out the ones names, I would get rid of Flacco, Freeman and Sanchez to leave myself Ryan and Stafford. Where I would take Stafford purely because he has the better arm. And has suffered injuries which affects his stats obviously.

It'll be interesting to see what teams like the Ravens, Jets and the others around the mid-pack who may be a QB away do in what is meant to be a top-heavy QB draft in 2012, with the likes of Luck, Barkley, RG3 and others.

I do like when this thread is used as a discussion rather than to throw abuse at each other.

We're all fans of what is a minority sport in England, and the inputs of people like Funk (and now Saxon) who are in the US are great for those of us that see it on TV, or once/twice a year in person.

The Charlotte Observer, for some reason, always publishes photos of the cheerleaders in the NFL each gameday.

I thought I would post a link for last weekend's as it was Halloween, and some of the outfits are quite 'unusual'.

The lady at the front on page 39 was the cheerleader who was at my stepson's birthday party at the Bank of America stadium a few years back.
