I think a leaving collection for someone that's been there for a few years is a nice touch for a gift. The others are ridiculous. A wedding collection is fine if you're all invited to the nuptials.

A baby collection if you had a hand in it. But sod giving into a collection if you've been temporarily assigned to cover that persons work for 12 months. She swans back in and gets the promotion you've been covering with your double work, then swans off to have sprog number 2 because Darren needs a little brother or sister. I would have thought 12 months paid maternity leave was enough of a pisstake without you all having to dip into your pockets. Let the soppy mares buy her a gift if they are so inclined.

Indeed. I got negged for telling him so as well. Disgusting that Biggus can call a more than likely straight man a faggot and some precious fanny gets on their soap box.

Problem is, some mods might consider a temporary ban or typed warning is needed for just cause. Six months ago Biggus would have received a ban. Luckily the mods have pulled back from that particular cliff.

Biggus has had enough. He helped pay for the running of this place and over precious cunt has made him give it up.

Its about time mods told these pricks " its the BBS, its banter, deal with it or fuck off!"

Neckinger Eagle 27-07-2017 09:07 PM

Hmm. I do not think it is OK to belittle or mock people with Faith.

So you might think you have had some kind of personal enlightenment when you realised there was no God. Well good for you. It doesn't mean those where their faith underpins and guides there life are wrong, just as much as you are not wrong. There's no answer to this conundrum.

And if you take this attitude you will find that a little religious tolerance goes a long way.

Those who have Faith do not annoy me, those who are intolerant of those who have Faith do annoy me. It's bigotry.

(To be clear, in equal opportunities questionnaires I always declare 'no religion' or 'agnostic').

Middle aged / middle class commuters in London with sodding great headphones wedged around their ears as if they were Grandmaster Flash about to embark on another adventure on his wheels of steel.

'Oh yeah, I love listening to music me, can't get enough of it, if I had to go without listening to music on my journey from Stevenage to Holborn life would come to an end'

What are you listening to mate, Mumford and Sons?

I mean when the Sony Walkman came out in the 1980s it was a genuinely revolutionary concept to be able to listen to your favourite mixtape while on the move. And the vast majority of users were in the 15-25 age group (and joggers). But over the past couple of years wearing massive headphones seems to have become a 'thing' which people of all ages, shapes and sizes feel obliged to participate in. A bit like 15 years ago when you couldn't move for grown ups reading Harry Potter books on the tube.

A bit like 15 years ago when you couldn't move for grown ups reading Harry Potter books on the tube.

i'll have you know that I was listening to the Avett Brothers on my P7s.

I am glad you didn't spot my headphone amp, that might have sent you over the edge.

Any noise bleed and I'd have been punching you in the face, repeatedly. It's this bubble thing, isn't it? Cut off from the environment with music and mobile device - an inability or reluctance to engage with the world around them. It's the ones who do it on bikes that are really idiotic, but nothing a few UPS vans won't sort out, I guess.
