I see Palace are advertising learning American Football skills at the friendly on friday night, I doubt hardly anyone will be there though. On another note Luol Deng of the Bulls is going to be there, Tony.

Guess where I'm not tonight. :sob:

jlmatthews 07-09-2007 03:59 PM

That was an ass kicking, last night. Peyton's good.

Chester 07-09-2007 04:08 PM

indeed, glad i went with my head and not heart by picking the colts.

absolutely turded on them. Puts a spanner in a lot of peoples works who said that the colts would struggle to do well this year

Benzhiyi 09-09-2007 02:46 PM

Nookie and I had the first half of our sports double header last night, Red Sox @ Orioles over at Camden Yards.

The Red Sox are supposed to be the best team in baseball. Wouldn't you know it: I go see them for the first time and they do an admirable impression of Crystal Palace, making silly errors in the field, pitching terribly, and allowing some Oriole Cookie who'd never managed an MLB hit before to cream a grand slam off Matzusaka (who was shocking, by the way). Final score 11-5, though Nookie - who's taken to supporting B'more to spite me - was happy.

Off to Dophins @ Redskins for some tailgateage in about an hour. Come on Miami!

elliott 09-09-2007 02:47 PM

Sooooooooooooooooo jealous.

I'll keep an eye out for you tonight.

Fins game on the interactive Sky coverage.

Looks like a great day in DC. To say I'm envious of Ben and Nookiebear right now is an understatement.

Perhaps more so of Nookiebear. The Fins have just gone three and out on their first series.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 07:09 PM

Interception... and a high-five from my daughter. :lux:

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 07:22 PM

Please ignore my post on the previous page about how good the Fins might be and how Wes Welker doesn't score many touchdowns. :clown:

jlmatthews 09-09-2007 07:54 PM

And at this point... 50% of people in fantasy footall are just realizing they drafted a shit team. :)

You're making your daughter watch the fins? She'll be scarred for life!!!! ;)

She's been wearing Palace sleepsuits since birth, she's scarred already.

Interesting that Saban's two #1 picks are getting limited time. Ronnie Brown seems to be mainly backing up Jesse Chatman, while Jason Allen's slipped as far down to just be the gunner on punt coverage.

BTW, why did we let Jones go? He was probably my favourite ever punter.

jlmatthews 09-09-2007 08:07 PM

You have a QB from Indiana University. What do you expect? Surely not points?

You know, when OJ Simpson took that now famous ride in the white Bronco, he was heading to Bloomington, Indiana.... to Indiana University, because no one would ever look for a football player there.

jlmatthews 09-09-2007 08:09 PM

Is Ginn returning punts or anything?

elliott 09-09-2007 08:11 PM

Yeh.

With chatman on kicks too.

Jason Allen is not very good.

And I liked Jones too. He had character (and a few unnesc roughness penalties)

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 08:12 PM

Who put together that Auburn roomates thing? Chatman went to Eastern Washington!

I preferred the joke that Thurman Thomas was a suspect, but then a Super Bowl ring was found at the scene. :D

Yes, but that clip didn't have any footage of Ronnie in it!

That was a great Auburn team by the way.

Chester 09-09-2007 08:16 PM

At least you are not a cleveland fan.

I think Brady quinn could be on very soon. Charlie Frye has spent more time on his back than a first rate hooker

This is a good drive though. (touches wood, crosses fingers, etc.)

Cleveland backup QB (not Quinn) is on...

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 08:20 PM

Bad clock management, should have had three tries at the end zone here.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 08:21 PM

It's because he's so used to playing from behind and chasing the game. ;)

You know... when he was at IU. They suck. Really bad. HAven't ben good for years. etc etc :D

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 08:26 PM

This cheerleader dancing + naff music combination on the Sky interactive coverage is beginning to do my head in.

BTW, my other prediction for this season was for the Patriots' season to be derailed by a Brady injury. He's avoided injury so far in his career, I just have a hunch this might happen for some reason this year.

My hope was that he's seen enough of what Marty did with leads to be too defensive.

I thought your hatred of ex IU coaches extended to ones who wore sweaters? ;)

jlmatthews 09-09-2007 08:29 PM

Does that go along with your fins and wes welker predictions?

Chester 09-09-2007 08:29 PM

6th sack on cleveland in the first half. all by different players

Yes, and then whoever QBs the winning team in the Super Bowl will start going out with Bridget Moynihan, dropping Brady down to the "bad guy in a bad teen movie" role. ;)

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 08:33 PM

I don't even think that's correct. There's too many stupid people on there.

There are so many people that at the beginning of the season will say that the Dolphins will go 16-0, and then after one preseason loss will say that we're doomed, Ronnie is crap and Cam should be sacked.

They're morons.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 09:26 PM

There are four things in sports which I see as guaranteed:

1) When threatening a late-inning comeback, an Atlanta Brave will hit into a morale-sapping, rally-ending double-play.
2) After getting into a good position, England can destroy all previous good work in a Test Match with a mid-order collapse of ridiculous magnitude.
3) Just when you think Palace are getting things right, it all goes wrong.
4) After keeping the ineffective offence in the game all day, the Fins defence wears down in the fourth quarter and allows the opposition to do enough to win.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2007 09:27 PM
