First round of the play-offs for my league this week and I rolled with Brees and Colston... which looked like suicide for my title hopes until that late TD. I was punching the sofa with delight watching it back on Sky Plus this morning. Phew!

jazman 12-12-2008 01:12 PM

I need to find out if Barber is going to play on Sunday damn it. It's critical to my fantasy plans ...

jazman 12-12-2008 01:14 PM

Good result for the Bears last night. Didn't Sky+ it as I am really struggling to watch what I do have on there already let alone 3 odd hours of NFL :)

But bizarrely, my daughter woke during the night so while I was sorting her out I turned TV on to see the Bears go 21-7 up just before the half. Now, i don't normally think at stupid o'clock so I can only assume its the NFL addiction kicking in ... :D

If Orton hadn't of thrown a pick lateish in the 4th when the Bears were in or nearing field goal range it would have been a much more comfortable vistory for them (and I would have won both my bets rather than lost them both grrr). Anyways, two more wins for them and they should make the playoffs with the Eagles :D

I hope you haven't put any money on the Eagles ;)

ardeo 12-12-2008 01:34 PM

No, not since the Ravens game...

Grim Reaper 13-12-2008 02:27 PM

Right, thought I'd give you a fun quiz. As of last week, what were the 5 biggest selling jerseys in the NFL this season.

I'll update it Family Fortune style. It's me v BBS and I'll give you as a group 12 lives. We're looking for players here, not teams. There's one RB, one defensive player and three QBs in the top 5.

3 obvious, 1 obviousish and one surprise (IMO)

Get guessing

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

elliott 13-12-2008 03:38 PM

Favre.
Peterson.
Brees.
Mayo.
Eli.

My thoughts.

Not really sure though

Strathclyde Eagle 13-12-2008 07:49 PM

Favre.
Peterson.
Urlacher.
Brady.
Peyton Manning.

I'd go with 4 of those but not sure about Brees.

Favre is a must, so is AP. Eli must be high due to the Superbowl and I've never seen so many Mayo shirts, even in NY.

I'll go with Brady as #5.

pauldrulez 13-12-2008 10:17 PM

Favre, Brady and Cutler
Gholston
McFadden.

This way, we will know that we can rule three out hopefully. And Gholston was selling well on a site I was on.

pauldrulez 13-12-2008 10:25 PM

Interestingly enough, Benjamin Watson of the Patriots just got a $10k fine for putting a ball up his shirt after a TD as his wife is pregnant. He also got the 15yd penalty.

Remind me what Ryan Clark got for the hit on Welker ;)

Benzhiyi 13-12-2008 10:28 PM

I'll go:

Favre, Brady, Bush, Tomlinson, P Manning

Bush is a good shout. The Wembley game might have provided a lot of purchases of his shirt. Although he didn't play which was gutting.

Strathclyde Eagle 13-12-2008 11:08 PM

If the list I found is accurate I don't think anyone will get one of them.

AddiscombeEagle 13-12-2008 11:28 PM

Less than 24 hours to go to the Ravens Steelers match up, going to be a cracker.

When is the Dallas Giants game this weekend?

Come on, give us a clue. Position and division/conference would help.

I'll go with a weird one then. Cassel :)

pauldrulez 13-12-2008 11:39 PM

No, its got to be someone or a team that was on fire last season as they would buy shirts in the off-season.

Who was hot? The Browns, the Giants, the Cowboys, Packers, Chargers, Pats, Jags.

My new 5: Brady, Romo(no-one said him), Derek Anderson(Probowler), Urlacher/Mayo/Gholston and either LT/AP.

Am I close?

Oops! :o

I just cheated (I don't think Grim realises how fast this thread moves these days!) and found a list purporting to be the top 10, but there aren't any defensive players on it...

Speaking of Grim, you've been surprisingly quite on the 'I love Chad Pennington' front this season I've noticed.... :lux:
