SPOILER ALERT! I think Grim might be referring to this list, but it's only up til August...

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_t...ng_NFL_jerseys

SPOILER ALERT 2! This one is more recent:

http://www.emqb.com/top-ten-best-selling-nfl-jerseys/

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 12:22 AM

So on the first list, after Strathers giving us his hint, I wasn't too far off.
1 correct, on the same lines as another, named 2 of the others in my groupings and one not on the top 5 but 7th ;)

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 12:24 AM

I'll avoid spoiling it but ask a question anyway.

Ben, does that mean the guy in first in the second list, sold huge amounts from August onwards. As he is in the first list but is now not there, but is still there.

I'm trying to say that without being incredibly obvious :D

That was the link I found.

Great minds and all that.

Kind of spoiler. Highlight to see. Can't get it the same colour as the background though. Sorry

I went with Favre because I thought he'd sell both an enormous amounts of old jerseys, but then new team ones too. FFS, even I have one and I hate them

Romo is a good shout too, was considering him.

I essentially went for the ones that all my friends have. I know loads of Mayo, and loads of AP and Eli. Also Bush too.

Urlacher is kind of an obvious one too. They sell very well (like Thomas 54 ones really)

Hedgehog 14-12-2008 02:58 AM

I just flew from Miami to Los Angeles on the same plane as Jimmy Johnson (ex-Miami and Dallas Coach). He went up into first class to my economy!

I was very surprised to see how “old” he walked…. Like an old man crippled. Pretty sad really I guess.

Strathclyde Eagle 14-12-2008 10:22 AM

He played, at least at college. I'd suspect that the grind of the game takes its toll, especially for players from a less advanced medical era. Johnson was a defensive lineman for Arkansas in the 60s.

Right, I'll take these in the order they were sent

Elliot gets the Top 2.....and wins a tumble dryer as well. Congratulations.

1. Favre
2. Eli
3.
4.
5.

3 Lives used up though

This way, we will know that we can rule three out hopefully. And Gholston was selling well on a site I was on.

The site you must have been on was called www.nflbusts.com if Gholston was selling well!! ;)

Alas, 3 more lives lost and no extras added.

8 lives gone now

He was one of my guesses, I have to admit.

When is the Dallas Giants game this weekend?

I believe it's the evening game. Thankfully as I'm out at a gig until late so if I'm in any fit state when I get in I may catch the start until my eyes fail me ... :)

Speaking of Grim, you've been surprisingly quite on the 'I love Chad Pennington' front this season I've noticed.... :lux:

I should disclose my source as coming from the Boomer Esiason radio show last week based on a conversation he had with an official at the NFL shop HQ in New York.

I've gone through the posts in the order they were done and have deliberately not looked at your wiki list (although will do so now)

As for Chad, I still own his shirt and can't help thinking that he'll come back to NY one day (once Brett has won us the Superbowl) so I'm keeping it in the wardrobe for the day he returns to continue Brett's dynasty

Grim Reaper 14-12-2008 12:44 PM

Right, I'm off out for the day (until 6pm) so I'll leave some clues as to the 3rd and 4th. Btw this for sales since the season began, not the above list

East Coast

Blue

I'll be back at 6 to update

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 01:16 PM

Right, lets think of this logically.

We are left with a Running Back and a Defensive player.
Its not Peterson or Tomlinson.
Its unlikely to be a rookie unless it is Forte or Johnson.
The Defensive player isn't Urlacher, Gholston or Mayo. So it could be one of the Giants players. Or possibly Pacman or Ware from the Cowboys. Or Bernard Pollard from the Steelers fans who were advertising his shirt in week 2 on their websites :(.

None of these are guesses btw, just discussion ;)

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 01:17 PM

And check my blog for a new update

I've done something that has no relevance to the Patriots at all (seriously) and I will be updating all week :D

The only reason he'll come back to New York is to lead us into the Play-offs in week 17. :o

Nah, I still make you favourites. But he'll never return to the Jets after the way they treated him. And I bet he loves playing for the young, hungry side he's in right now. In 3-4 years time we'll be up there with the league's best while the Jesters will be where they belong - bottom of the AFC East. :lux: :lux: :D

Benzhiyi 14-12-2008 01:51 PM

Like the blog, Paul.

I'd have Thigpen as KC's MVP, he's been tremendous of late.

And predicting the Phins to lose their last three? I think we'll get at least one more.

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 01:55 PM

When was that? Was that the blog beforehand which was November

I never have the time to do it, but coming up to Christmas I thought I would.

I had to have Gonzalez in. He would be one player that I would love to have at the Patriots. We have Ben "Touchdown pass a year" Watson who rarely catches the ball. David "Personal Foul" Thomas who can block a bit but has caught a few but appears to be behind our 3rd TE who was only promoted a week ago.

It's a difficult one for Gonzalez, he wanted out before the Trade deadline, I personally think he should wait there for next year as that team will be about halfway up the league at best.

pauldrulez 14-12-2008 01:57 PM

Looking at my November predictions for the league, it shows that 4 weeks of matches can shakeup the division. I had the Chargers winning out and going 10-6 (Maybe not;))

I had the Skins going 11-5, I had the AFC South closeish, 3 10-6 and Falcons 9-7.

I got the Bills, Ravens and the AFC East wrong as well.
