The Phins are unique in that they wear white for every home game other than those with evening kick-offs. (All to do with letting the other team cook in their coloured jerseys under the Floridan sun.)

(In fact, Strath/Elliott - have we even worn the aqua this season?)

Cowboys pretty much always wear white at home too.

And still no-one has guessed correctly on the quiz question...

pauldrulez 18-12-2008 09:27 PM

hmmm.

My other two thoughts are probably wrong now then, but the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks as I can barely remember seeing their white shirts although tbh I may have seen the Cards white one once this year but cant remember if its home or away :D

But both of them are in hot places in the summer so I'm probably wrong.

What does Seattles white shirt even look like

Not at home...

... but for our annual defeat at Houston...

... and for a certain road game in week 3. :lux:

And supposedly have such a thing about it that some teams took to wearing white at home when the Cowboys visited (Carolina in the play-offs in 1996 I think, also the Giants in 1986, as shown in that America's Game episode).

My second attempt... San Francisco?

I definitely remember a too-and-fro game in Phoenix where the Cowboys were wearing their road blue unis.

In fact in the last few minutes the game was quite spectacular. Troy Aikman - very early in his career - stepped forward into a pass and was knocked out throwing the goal-ahead TD (just absolutely leveled, I guess the tackler would probably be fined today) but Phoenix (as they were then) came back with another TD. Think that might have been the year the Cowboys went 1-15 but don't hold me to that.

I think we are both along the lines of NFC West then... which reminds me, I'm 3 days behind on the blog (oops).

I'm going to catch up now, despite having a lot to do right now. :hmph:

We've had this earlier in the year? If not, I already know it (and I've not read any of the thread past this bit).

They have those silver sleeves.

And I'm getting a hunch we're all looking in the wrong direction... or should that be the wrong division?

I'm not far off googling this. Not knowing is starting to bug me!

Early doors they wore aqua I swear. Perhaps at Houston? They wore it thru all of preseason. I'd imagine conditioning purposes.

Some teams choose to wear white, purely to force Dallas into blue. Which is cool.

I must confess, I thought it was Seattle. In fact, I'm certain.

I cant google it, I have a 100% record (well 1/1) so far of questions that I knew.

I'll wait for Ben(or elliott) to confirm our answers.

Next, I think the Dolphins wore white to Gillette in September as Bill has us wearing white in home games at the beginning of the season with the higher temperatures.

Right, blog-time :p

Strathclyde Eagle 18-12-2008 10:20 PM

Interesting note I just found while researching the last question:
Quote:

9. Alt jerseys were OK at first, but have gotten out of hand…the Titans even have ALTERNATE PANTS, and wore 7 different unis in 16 games in 2006!!!
Don't bother to look for that though because:
1) It is a comment from a really stupid article (IMHO), and
2) Among the comments is one which criticises the Chargers' powder blue throwback.
Quote:

Hopefully they’ll go back to the dark colors, and not just wear the crazy alternative color like that crazy baby-blue Chargers jersey that looks ridiculous.

I think you've confused yourself.

Either that or all the footage and photos from that day have been manipulated. ;)

I have to say, I have no problem with powder blue. It looks good, and is classic.

Surely, in an alternate uniform you have to have alternate pants? That's how it works!

And finally, how have UNC Tarheels got away with having such a pale blue jersey? Watching it on telly, you can barely tell the difference between that and white, surely the whole point is to prevent clash. How shit.

pauldrulez 18-12-2008 11:04 PM

Strathers, Freudian slip. I meant Bill had the Pats wearing white.

As fans were complaining about a home curse in white after Game 1 (Brady :sob:) and Game 3 (Dolphins thrashing with a cat).

New blog completed :) Blue Boy may be interested in this one.

Benzhiyi 19-12-2008 12:24 AM

Seattle is the correct answer. :)

pauldrulez 19-12-2008 01:57 AM

Excellent. 2 from 2.

Sort of....

And I guessed Tuck right for the Grim Question of the Week.

This question was asked 2 weeks back for tickets on a Pats radio show.

Name the two Raiders starting Receivers named on their depth chart? (And its not Higgins) You wont believe how hard it is to get one of their names, no matter two...

And no cheating.

Strathclyde Eagle 19-12-2008 02:03 AM

Elliott, no criticism of the Chargers' powder blue or UNC's Carolina blue please. They're both classics in my view.

Paul, that question is too hard. Not even Jamarcus Russell knows the answer to that (probably not saying much).

Strathclyde Eagle 19-12-2008 02:10 AM

Oh, and here's the blog post I strongly disagreed with earlier:
http://ahabsquest.wordpress.com/2006...t-home-no-way/

I'd quite like the author of that to have to work in Swansea, where he can explain his feelings on the issue to the supporters of the local football club. :D

Love the Powder blue jerseys! :lux: I have heard the Titans thing too! They have white, navy, and sky pants, so the 7 combinations isn't surprising. I think I read the combos somewhere too... All sky, Sky and navy, All white, white and sky, navy and sky, all navy, and navy and white.
