You do realise that continuing your rather pathetic vendetta on the Things That Annoy You thread is quite embarrassing? Even for you it’s pretty weak.

You remind me of the bully at my old junior school who used to follow kids around looking for some unrequited love. The scenes when one day a kid turned round and gave him a good shoeing were marvellous.

Here’s a deal - just don’t respond to any of my posts and that will mean I don’t need to respond to you.

I’m really not interested in what you have to say to me and I’m sure no one else is

Yep, often used to find the postie fast asleep on the doorstep because he can’t make the effort to ring the doorbell. Never a problem these days although the postie looks knackered these days.

Useful by product is it also rings when little scrotes creep down the drive to nick the car. Who would have thought......

Martin H 23-08-2020 01:38 PM

TV documentary series that make a series of 3 programmes that should have been 2 by repeating half of the previous episode in the next one. So lazy. Watched a 3 episode one on Vietnam war the other day and reckon it could have been in 1 episode but they dragged it out over 3 by repeating everything again and again. Don’t even bother to disguise it. Lazy gits.

Oh yes, recognise that. We have a garden full of various breeds of pigeons too (there are several people nearby that either keep pigeons or used to and they come and s*** at ours - pigeons, not their owners ). Occasional issue with detectors but more irritating is their fuffing calling at the crack of dawn. Surprisingly loud. The enormous ones remind me of the good aliens at the start of Fifth Element. Thick as proverbial though and always flying into our windows leaving flattened bird imprints and scare the bejeezers out of you. They are dopey and walk round being stalked by cats. I used to worry for them and go out but they get in a corner and peck the cat whenever it gets near until it gives up.

No problem with grape vines here though :(

P.s. - the mouse didn’t appear at all last night and so maybe the slugs scared it off or the ‘stuff’ kicked in. Just got to get rid of the slugs now.

We have red kites and sparrowhawks who go for pigeons, but they cannot get them all.

It's a vendetta, but pathetic and weak?

Surely a vendetta is as strong a desire for retribution as it gets?

And if you are not interested in what he has to say, why bother with such a heartfelt plea?

Just put him on ignore and keep your counsel. Or don't even do that if you are not interested at all.

Your reaction may be have been exactly what he was looking for.

I appreciate it might be me, but it's not intuitive, and the tutorial videos are very basic, and the user manual seems to skip over anything but the basics.

I feel like I'm playing a video game, and having to get to certain levels to learn the secrets to doing stuff.

Then again, for under $3.00... I can't complain, although obviously I am!

You're a diamond, Bob.

I'm starting to get my head around AutoCAD, but it's a slow process. It's certainly nowhere near as easy to pick up as, say, Adobe software is.

Red kites are predominantly scavengers, they’ll eat any kind of crap they can find.

Basically they are gulls in disguise with a brilliant social media team behind them.

On a serious note, anyone know why they died out in England?

Have you ever listened to yourself, you utter penis?

Hedgehog 23-08-2020 05:56 PM

As we are talking about birds...

We have a family of Cooper's Hawks living in a tree close by. The good thing is they seem to have scared off the crows that seemed to have ruled the roost around here for years.

Also hummingbirds seem to get a kick out of hovering in front of my Blink security camera setting it off. They seemed to be attracted to the ping it makes when activated or the little blue light that comes on.

This is the ornithologist BBS site right?

I am. I am taking a back seat. I don't wish to talk about penises and bum chums.

Too highbrow for me.

At the beginning of that spat, I took a look at some google images of Coin, and must make a visit there with the missus when we get to Europe in a year or so.

The plan is to concentrate on Spain, Portugal and Italy with a touch of Blighty for me before the wife joins me.

Spain has a lot of places I want to check out due to a Chilean travel show that was really rather good. City Tour it is called - and focuses mainly on architecture - lots on You Tube. They started in Chile, then went to Spain, Italy, France, The UK, and finally The USA.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g5QZ77Z3YA

You need your Spanish....although the main host sometimes tries English, Italian, French with whoever he ends up chatting to.

We have a few Sparrowhawks around here and one of them took a pigeon right outside our window. It was fascinating to watch it perch on top of the pigeon for quite a while (I assume until it stopped wriggling) and then it basically plucked the thing while it was tucking in for a good meal. I always wish I have been able to capture it on video but sadly I didn't have anything with me that would have done it any justice through a window and I daren't open the door so I just pulled up a chair and watched it with a cup of coffee. (Errrm, for clarity, it was me that had the coffee, the sparrowhawk declined...)

There is something awesome (in the truest sense) and majestic about a bird of prey.

P.S. - just been out to check and it seems the slug and the mice have been bettered by the rain which has despite various plastic sheets managed to absolutely drench the pest bait that was in there. So I am nto replacing it with any more new bags until it's dried out but instead streaming a 'Windmill in Amsterdam on permanent loop instead.

I was out walking the dogs on Broadheath Common a couple of weeks ago, when my bitch picked up something on the wind. She headed of towards a hedgerow to investigate and disturbed a Buzzard feasting on something.

There was a classic moment of surprise, the buzzard lifted off squawking and my bitch retreated for a moment. The Buzzard turned and made to swoop back but decided better of it when Tikka let it be known that she was quite happy to have a barney. The first time in seven-odd years when she's felt that standing her corner was more important than her recall whistle.

Fair play to her :)

If she'd done a runner, your dog could have been called a chicken Tikka.

Only issue is that we get one dong on the half hour (PHNAAR) which seems pointless

My mantle clock does that, one chime on the half hour. I don't mind most of the time, but annoyingly it means there's a 90-minute period when the chime could mean it is 12.30, 1.00 or 1.30.

The scumbag British on holiday. I find it therapeutic, but spent two hours clearing the coast path of rubbish. Two bin liners worth of beer cans, slush puppy cups, crisp and biscuit packets and cigarette packets. What is wrong with these people?

It is worst here mate.

People can't bin their beach/picnic rubbish when there is a bin provided in plain site 5 metres away.

The big plus of the pandemis has been empty and clean beaches, snow areas, and beauty spots. All due to change.

Camden Council's inability to identify that you have paid your Council Tax in full, and continuing to send installment reminders

I have no idea we see it here all the time. They are also the first to complain about how messy it is :wallbash:

I know we’ve done this before, but women getting their lips inflated. WHYYYYYY! It looks bloody awful.

Dropped my daughter off to nursery today and passed her onto this pretty young staff member who i haven’t seen since lockdown and lo and behold, her lips were doing a great impression of Mick Jagger. Looked terrible. Totally ruined my dropping off experience.

Wolfnipplechips 24-08-2020 07:58 PM

I hope you still have one in the bank.

It's a really odd thing, isn't it?

I don’t know why they think it looks good. I’m yet to find any bloke who says it makes them look more attractive

This ^^

It’s weird. I guess they do it because they personally feel better for having it done because they want to look like that, not because they think it will make them more attractive to blokes.

Perhaps they want to look less attractive to men?

It’s their body.

Completely agree. Most generally pair it with the awful looking "scouse brow".

If they've been drinking Slush Puppies probably acid reflux I'd say.
