Just checked the scores, was it really 105-3 at start of play? That was some collapse.
Further confirmation that the County Championship is of little or no interest to Gould and Stewart. |
Yes, metronomic Murtagh & Roland- Jones bowled especially well but that was pee poor from a Surrey batting lineup with 5 internationals in the top order. A few dropped catches too.
Next week, Hampshire with Mohammed Abbas & Kyle Abbott leading the attack! |
Subcontinental Homesick Blues. In the same IPL match so far today, Morgan run out without facing a conker and Buttler dismissed for sub-double figures again. They must fancy jumping on a Triple-Seven to Heathrow soon.

The hard working County yeoman is so far removed from Surrey's Chequebook Charlies (or whatever the digital equivalent is)
24 years since the publication of Simon Hughes' "A Lot of Hard Yakka" and it's still the seminal account of the sweaty, blistered-toe coal face of Championship cricket. Surrey haven't got any Yakka at all at the monent, let alone hard. |

Whereas a team containing 3 current England players, 2 who have played Test Cricket for England, a current ODI and T20 Eng player, a spinner who was in the Test party in India, an ex Top South African heavy run scorer, would do a little better than score less than 300 in 2 innings against a team, who have lost their first 2 games and let mighty Leics score 600 plus runs for 13 wickets. Absolutely fecking useless:embarass: |
Hard to be too upset about how useless Surrey are given how shockingly they treated their members last season.

A century in each innings for Haseeb Hameed in this latest game. It’d be great if he could find some sustained form.

Surrey are beyond belief and each and everyone connected should hang their heads in shame by their shameful performances to date, and the Middlesex defeat summed it up perfectly.
That was not just a defeat but a spineless surrender, how has it all gone so wrong Alec Stewart? GET IT SORTED. |
Wow, couple of notable results today.
Glocs last pair held out for 17 overs to get a very good draw vs Hants. Northants & Glamorgan scored >1400 runs between them. Glammy scored >400 in their 1st innings & declared just 5 down in their 2nd but still lost! |
Surrey woken up this morning.
Hampshire 44-2 to 70-7 |
