Jalen Hurts is the real deal!
The play in the last minute where he was stripped, regained the ball and nailed the pass down the sideline for a 1st down was brilliant.
His rushing TD was equally exciting.

I always thought Hurts was under-rated because of the Tagovailoa comparisons. However, you look at what he did when he moved to Oklahoma and you can see that he was going to thrive in whatever situation he found himself.

On a slightly related matter, what the hell were the Jets thinking beating the Rams? Now Jacksonville has a shot at Trevor Lawrence. They better tank hard v Cleveland and the Pats because the Jags have no show against the Bears and Colts.

Wentz-like improvisation...

Even the Raiders on 7-7 have no chance, yet Washington on 6-8 romp through on account of their division being so utterly shit. Any other 2nd placed AFC side would've smashed that division. Ain't right that the Raiders had to face the current holders and runaway team of the year twice, and they even inflicted that 1 loss on them, but they're out for a team with a losing record. :jerkit:

EDIT, not sure if I understand it though but if the Raiders beat the Dolphins on Sunday then it's wide open in the final week as they are better on head to head? Both would be on 9-7 when (if) the Bills beat them too, and the Raiders beat the shitty Broncos. Having said that, the Raiders got butt****ed by the Falcons the other week lol Tbf the Raiders have lost a lot of games by small margins, their defence sucks (Concede 30 points a game on AVERAGE!)

The only path for the Raiders is for all of the following to happen:
  • Beat Dolphins and Broncos
  • Dolphins also lose to the Bills
  • Ravens lose to the Giants and Bengals
Not likely but (I think) more likely than the 1% odds that ESPN are giving them. They say that the Chiefs are only 96% to clinch the conference but I haven't found the scenario where they don't.

Ok got it. It appears that both the Bills and Steelers need to cause a 3-way tie for first in the conference to even have a shot. So both the Bills and Steelers need the following to happen before they can even get to the strength of schedule tiebreakers:
  • Chiefs lose to the Falcons :p, Chargers
    AND
  • Bills beat Patriots, Dolphins
    AND
  • Steelers beat Colts, Browns
Then the Steelers need to have the NFC South lose this weekend (apart from the Falcons, of course) and the Bills need a host of results to go their way. I've done it before but haven't been able to replicate it. It involves the Titans winning out and some other results. The Steelers are much easier to make happen. Of course, that counts on the Falcons winning, which isn't happening. After all, they aren't in pole position for the #1 draft pick. If they were, they would definitely win.

Spindle 23-12-2020 10:29 AM

Dang I forgot about the Ravens. They will likely beat both of those sides, especially the Giants, who can't even make the top half of the shittest division in history.

That's Funk sorted for Christmas :D

hughff 26-12-2020 12:46 AM

Hope a BBSer had Alvin Kamara in their fantasy team. Six rushing touchdowns - a new NFL single game record. It also ties the record for most in a game by all methods.

aj4england 27-12-2020 11:26 AM

F@ckin Kliff Kingsbury - complete dud

An 85 point game. Ridiculous!

Raiders threw yet another win away at the death....

aj4england 30-12-2020 01:51 PM

Final game shootout for the Cardinals then vs Rams back up QB. I don't expect a deep run in the playoffs, but important that we get there, partly to give Kyler that exposure in a Play Off game. Even he flames out (ala Josh Allen vs Texans last year) it will start to see us back moving towards being a winning team once again.

I also don't agree with the standings/winlose record etc in terms of making the playoffs. I think the division winners should make it through, but Washington/Dalles shouldnt be ranked 4, they should be ranked 7 and have the 1 seed given their pitiful record.

Flip side is, unless you are seed 1, 2 or 7 then 3-6 has less importance this year than previous due to lack of homefield advantage. 1 or 2 have the home route to the SB should 1 slip up and 7 (in theory) gets the hardest opponent.

hughff 31-12-2020 10:50 PM

Kyler Murray is out for the Cardinals too, so it's a battle of the backups in Glendale.

CT_Palace 03-01-2021 11:45 PM

Some horrific stats shown during the 9ers game.
Numbers as I remember them: had 43 on injured reserve this season. Used 80 different players over the season.
What a disaster. One to forget.

CT_Palace 04-01-2021 12:13 AM

And nicely, to end this disaster of a season, Wilson giving John Lynch a lesson and a reminder in how mobile QBs rule the NFL nowadays.
Take the hint mate, we need a QB who can operate out of the pocket. PLEASE!

Indeed - well coached though means that they will come back well and getting the 12 pick is a nice place to be in to either go up, stay or go back with some OLine and Corner backs needed for you, if not go up and get a QB.

As for bad coaching, i'm sick of Kliff Kingsbury already. What a way to flame out of the season. Punting on the 40 with 5 mins left down 11 was a pinnacle, but the 3 and 18 speed option play with an injured Kyler before was even more of a disaster.

Spindle 04-01-2021 08:22 AM

A losing season and going through as divisional champs. What a disgrace.

I can't call the superbowl not even at this stage. A handful of strong sides there who can win it, Bills, Saints, Chiefs strong all season, Packers on a run. I think the Seahawks had a false run from looking who they beat on that streak.

hughff 06-01-2021 07:19 PM

Commiserations to Tony P who, after a neck and neck race all year, had to settle for second in the BBS Spread Pickers league. Last year's winner, Everybody Ertz, was 3rd.
