inbreds in their hybreds going 20 in a 30Mph zone so they only use their battery and save on petrol.

They combine this with saving battery power by not using indictors.

People not listening properly. I get Google updates on Leeds Crown Court news (ever since we had a dodgy builder) and one the other day reported a husband and wife found guilty of the husband having sex with some chickens and his wife filmed it.

Suspect his mate had suggested to him that he could make a fortune by posting videos on Youtube and he should get his wife to make a video of him plucking chickens.

WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN!

The really sad bit is that the couple have now split up because the husband has heard that Turkeys gobble.

Boom boom. Tish....

The news story of the court judgment is for real BTW. I daren't ask.......

I did once spend 15 seconds looking for the treble clef on the keyboard. Could've sworn it was in one of those codes.

Or 'buses. Well, they're always Yank 'buses, isn't it? Well I've only ever spent three days in America and most of that was in an office, so how am I supposed to know what all different kinds of American 'bus look like?

And then when you've clicked on them all and submitted it it turns round and puts another one up asking you to click on all the pictures of cars, then cats, then Belisha beacons, and so on and so on until you disappear up your own derriere in a fit of despair.

But a black cab would be driven by a salt of the earth racist whilst an uber will almost certainly be driven by some peasant immigrant scum. How did you cope?

chateauferret 03-08-2020 11:40 PM

£16 from Surbiton to New Malden? If there were any trains that would've been next stop, wouldn't it?

£16 would get me from my house to Glasgow Airport without too much bother and that's about 20 miles and the other side of the city centre. Maybe not on a Sunday right enough but anyway. £16!?

Keep the faith... sounds like you are on the right track.

Not teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs (is that the saying?), but I find Google and YouTube really helpful when self teaching software. If you have a question there is a good chance someone else somewhere has had the same question.

Just walked to the kitchen with my dinner plate and halfway there i could feel the blood draining from my face. Ended up standing on the spot waiting for it to pass. Vision went dark, knees started to buckle, nearly dropped the plate and then it went back to normal.

Happened to me once before when taking a piss. That time i got a face full of porcelain sink and a fat scar above my eyebrow.

Annoying.

From personal experience, if you mean by your ‘vision went dark’ that you lost your vision, get yourself down to A&E now as it could well be a TIA.

Undiagnosed, what may follow could be life changing.

What does TIA mean? Whatever it is, it sounds like a call to 111 at the very least, but your advice sounts like he right one. |

Transient Ischaemic Attack.

I had a spell like this a few months back. Sitting in church, suddenly felt all faint and went pale. Don't think my vision was affected but tried to get up to go outside and it wasn't having it. Was practically carried out and sat on the steps, then sent to Monklands A&E where they spent the night doing every test they could think of then sent me home but told me not to drive or operate machinery (Mrs F tried to argue that this included the piano).

The following day the consultant phoned me up and asked me to go and see him immediately. Uh-oh, I thought. But it turned out that he was just dealing with it then because he had a free slot, and no it wasn't a TIA but just a faint spell.

Things that look like a heart attack or a stroke (which is what a TIA is technically) should always be checked out at A&E.

Trust me, call 999 and be honest about your symptoms. Mention TIA, it’s frequently a pre curser to a major stroke.

If I’m wrong, fee free to take the piss, it would still be worth it.

I thought I was pretty invincible.

Ok I’m gonna compromise and get an emerg ASR’s appointment tomorrow.

Thanks all.

Good call. Try not to lamp anybody on your way in.

Good luck Joe... Could be a few things, but Blind sounds like he knows about these things.

Back to an annoyance (or more a head scratcher really), why do people who ride motor scooters, as in Vespas or the like, think it is OK to ride them in flip flops, shorts and a tank top, with a 60's retro helmet?

What makes them think if you came off at 30 mph you will be OK because it's a scooter?

I'm sure we all know someone who has come a cropper in Spain or Greece etc. riding these things.

Not saying you should wear the full leathers and full face helmet (although I've seen that also!), but jeans and a long sleeve shirt/jacket might help.

Joe85, you can't muck about with your health and the possibility of these episodes being potentially mini strokes should not be discounted. You're a great lad, with a great family and we all respect you and care for you and we all just want you to be okay.
Have you got that tenner you owe me by the way?

And, maybe, some personal insight to back up what others have said.

My Dad, a bit like me in this respect sometimes, was like a lot of men. He never
visited the doctor. More to the point, he was anti visiting the doctor.

He died at 65 years old. A couple of years before, he had an incident similar to yours in the bathroom at my uncle's house. And ignored it and carried on.

Likewise, Blind.

The Bronchitis, the nature of my job dismissal, and time on my hands to think with this pandemic, and my outlook is different.

Waiting 30 minutes listineng to a recorded message, then getting through and have nobody pick up and the phone go dead.

That's up there when I really need to talk to someone.

Oh, and websites where I am registered to an old hotmail address and I can't register anew or get access to the old email.

"Normalcy."

What the holy f'k did "normality" do to exile itself beyond the realms of realcy?

Knobbers.

Plenty of dickheads on motorbikes dressed the same and going far faster than 30,but I get your point.

I'm late to this discussion, but Good Luck, Joe. It's vital you get it checked out. If it is nothing, great. If it is something that needs addressing, better sooner than later. Years ago, my sister used to pass out early mornings, turned out to be low blood pressure and anaemia.

Here's hoping it is nothing to worry about. Stay well and keep us posted. :p
