There's a draft game that is done on a Pats forum I look at.

Use the CBS prospect website to make the draft picks for your team.

Kills 20 minutes of time.

Here's the rules:
Quote:

For first-round picks, you can choose a player ranked no more than THREE slots ahead (e.g., as high as #14 for #17, etc.).
For day two picks (anything from 34-96), you can choose a player ranked no more than SIX slots ahead.
For day three picks (anything after 96), you can choose a player ranked no more than TEN slots ahead.

After you have made those picks, you can do trades as long as they make sense using the trade value board. [Note: same rules as above apply; if you have the Pats trade down to 43, for example, they can take a player at 37 or lower.]
Trade Chart: http://www.thehuddlereport.com/Free/...adechart.shtml
Would be interested to see what fans of other teams think of players and vice versa. I've done mine previously, so will put mine up in a minute.

Here are the Patriots picks as of now: 17, 28, 33, 60, 74, 92, 123, 156, & 184.

Trade: 17 + 28 for 9 and 210 from Dallas.

At 9, the Patriots Draft Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina to play OLB in the 3-4.

Trade 33 + 92 + 210 for 25 from Seattle.

At 25, the Patriots select Gabe Carimi, OT to play opposite Sebastian Vollmer.

60: Stefan Wisniewski, C. To develop behind Koppen.
74: DeMarco Murray, RB. Can run the ball, but catch out of the backfield.

Trade 123+184 for 153+154 from Seattle
153: Owen Marecic, FB, Stanford
154: Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama
156: Ryan Whalen, WR, Stanford

One defensive stud. 7 offensive pieces. I can't see it happening but I'd love it.

It's the only reason (along with being ill) that I ended up doing that other draft game.

SORT OUT A CBA, YOU WANKERS

Adrian Peterson can **** off. Says players are modern day slaves....earning 11mill a year. I'd do his job for 110k a year.

Got a scrimmage on Sunday against Cambridgeshire Cats and just been told I will get time on D and O so probably playing DE and TE. Can't wait. Dreading how bad my fitness will be mind. Not been able to run for a few weeks but lost some weight since then which should balance it out.

Hmmm, some very bizarre comments coming out from some players. Even Drew Brees was tweeting something today. The players union are encouraging players to boycott the draft now ...

Drew Brees and Peyton Manning are at the forefront of player negotiations I think. There was a bit of a hoo ha about Panthers owner Jerry Richardson 'dissing' them about a month ago, though it turned out to be more about another player trying to stir the shit, who wasn't even there...

The case is now being known as Brady vs NFL because Brady is first in alphabetical order, apparently.

That'll please Mr. Kraft. $19m a year for you Mr. Brady.

The slavery comment has been pulled now as it may have been taken out of context. Re-reading it beforehand it was definitely in the same context as the CRonaldo ones from a couple of years ago. Disgraceful.

pauldrulez 15-03-2011 11:26 PM

Leigh Bodden just told some Pats fans to read a book about 40 million slaves or something like that.

I don't think i'm even going to get involved in this one.

jazman 16-03-2011 12:27 PM

Good god. These players want to take a look what has happened in Japan. Then take a look around them. What they have. Pales into insignificance the money issue. I always thought that NFL have got a lot of things right but for this to happen and players saying they are being treated as slaves is all rather hard to digest right now ... I have always had an awful lot of respect for NFL players but the last week or so, that has diminished somewhat by some stupid comments by both them and their union. I'm sure the NFL aren't whiter than white here but I'm firmly on their side ...

Yep. I understand that the main stumbling block at the moment is that the NFL owners won't open their books, meaning that the players have to take all the owners' financial figures at face value. What's the opinion on here about that? Do the owners something to hide? Do the players have the right to know such privileged information?

Swanny32 16-03-2011 01:16 PM

Hard one to call really but I think the owners have a case here for rejecting the players demands, it's their business at the end of the day. I don't go around telling people how much my business earns even when they do ask, it's personal information. This is all about player power, the way I see it is that all these owners pay good money for these players to play football and that's what they are doing, no more, no less......it's nothing to do with them how much the franchises are making.
