Half of their logo is green. I guess that helps.

Can't imagine they'll scrimp on paint for the Orange Bowl, so the only way to go over that so quickly is to paint over the top of it. "NFL Wild Card weekend - brought to you by Dulux!"

Rep points available if anyone can find that advert with the groundsmen who paints the word CHEFS in the Kansas City endzone.

Two brilliant adverts.

I think with the paint, they can use short term paint which washes off easily. I don't think that's the problem. Perhaps it takes time to reapply a different pattern, hence why they can remove the "U", but can't apply the Dolphin/Ring of fire.

How incredibly harsh. This was a team that I genuinely thought was as bad as the Fins in 2007. And they are certainly very competitive this year.

saxoneagle 29-12-2008 03:10 PM

Marinelli out too.

No tears shed for Mangini here.

pauldrulez 29-12-2008 03:10 PM

And the next greatest thing in the world.

Harsh but possibly fair.

They lost a 3rd rounder for Favre.

They gave away Pennington.

They also got Faneca.

That is a lot of money to finish where they finished the year before.

And I believe they would have been close to beating you with Clemens or their other QB in as well.

Favre, got picked by a Defensive Lineman. No, wait. Got pick-sixed by a Defensive Lineman. He tried to be clever and do the quick throw without telling anyone, next time he should actually tell the Reciever.
And the deep throw INT, well that was pathetic.

The best thing about the Jets yesterday was the million laterals at the end. That was incredible how it didn't go wrong for so long. I was waiting for a lateral to Mangini To Tennenbaum to Belichick to Aaron Rodgers, off the Lambeau Leap to Washington to Al Davis to Al Gore to Obama to Favre who falls flat on his face at the 1 yard line.

For me, he'll always be remembered for this.

I've just worked out, the Pats will have pick #20 of the draft. Based on records, it would've been 24 but 4 teams with worse records made the play-offs!

saxoneagle 29-12-2008 03:23 PM

I found this draft order, but it is wrong (highlighted teams made play-offs so positions still to be decided):

Round 1
  1. Detroit (0-16)
  2. St. Louis (2-14)
  3. Kansas City (2-14)
  4. Seattle (4-12)
  5. Cleveland (4-12)
  6. Cincinnati (4-11-1)
  7. Oakland (5-11)
  8. Jacksonville (5-11)
  9. Green Bay (6-10)
  10. San Francisco (7-9)
  11. Buffalo (7-9)
  12. Denver (8-8)
  13. Washington (8-8)
  14. New Orleans (8-8)
  15. Houston (8-8)
  16. San Diego (8-8)
  17. New York Jets (9-7)
  18. Chicago (9-7)
  19. Tampa Bay (9-7)
  20. Detroit - from Dallas (9-7)
  21. Arizona (9-7)
  22. Philadelphia (9-6-1)
  23. Minnesota (10-6)
  24. New England (11-5)
  25. Atlanta (11-5)
  26. Miami (11-5)
  27. Baltimore (11-5)
  28. Indianapolis (12-4)
  29. Philadelphia - from Carolina (12-4)
  30. Pittsburgh (12-4)
  31. New York Giants (12-4)
  32. Tennessee (13-3)

Wow, first time I've ever really read this:

What a pile of sh*te. Any of the regular posters on here could've done better. Except maybe Paul. ;)

elliott 29-12-2008 03:51 PM

It's been noticed before. Often they spell stuff wrong and get technical stuff very wrong.

It's brilliant.

I've only ever really skim-read it before. I'm bored today so I read all of it. Waste of effort, really. :D

Well done to the Eagles but to see my Patriots fail to reach the playoffs on a stupid countback was hard to take. It was clearly all set up for a Pats v Colts AFC Championship game as the two in-form teams and now I am morally obliged to support Philly all the way.
Stupid Countback?

No, we didn't do what we needed to do. Pure and simple. We beat the Jets, we have a better division record and are 12-4. Not difficult.

We just didn't do what we had to do in some games.

Romeo has gone. Odds are, he'll be back with us next year.

Indeed. It makes me laugh how bad it is. I think I wrote an email to the Beeb before complaining about it.

I've just posted to say it is awful :D

That was from the knowledge bank that is 606.

The other day someone who said they stay up and watch every game asked the question:

Quote:

What happened to that Brady guy who played for the Bills?
You see, this is what happen when you make a douche of yourself. I told myself never to make stupid comments again.

Whatever happened to that Elway guy from the Arizona SeaNiners?

pauldrulez 29-12-2008 04:26 PM

Right, lets take over 606 with stupid comments :)

saxoneagle 29-12-2008 04:30 PM

OK, given that a team without a winning record made the play-offs, how would you change the play-off qualification system? Or how would you change the league in total, if you would?

And no, this isn't as a result of the Pats not qualifying - we played to the rules as they were and didn't get in. I've just seen a lot today from people suggesting it is unfair. However, the Chargers (8-8) did destroy the Pats (11-5), so maybe any pre-play-off would have done SD's way, too.
