Anyone that believes that is an idiot. He destroys his phones so no-one can get hold of them. Text messages and call records never disappear! He's not stupid. |
|
Quote:
Do you not think its slightly suspicious that Wells asks him for all relevant texts, he then destroys a four month old phone on the day he meets with Wells, even though he knew at the time that the investigation wanted to see the texts. If timing was different it's possible he routinely destroys his phones every year or so but every four months? And knowing that he's been asked to submit those messages for the investigation.... I'm not biased here. I like Tom Brady and I don't hate the Pats. They were my second team for a long time. The whole NE defense is basically a conspiracy theory based around some weird idea that the NFL would want to frame and shame it's most successful franchise and most successful player.... |
Like I said at the beginning of the suspension, I can't wait for it to go to court.
The Florio link is excellent, the only things people remember are the things leaked to BSPN. |

Brady is one of the cleverest men in pro sports, and would clearly recognise that the simplest way to clear his name would be to hand over his phone.
Why, then, go the opposite route and DESTROY it? And why can't Pats fans see that such an act is suspicious, even if they don't want to consider him guilty? If he's truly innocent, it was a spectacularly dumb move from him and his attorneys. |
Personally I think it is all somewhat hilarious.
|

Since the Redskins claim to have a waiting list of over 200,000 people for season tickets, they've decided to eliminate thousands of seats (yet again) replacing them with some sort of lego looking tarp.

As for handing the phone over, Brady was used at the head of a NFLPA lawsuit. Their policy is do not hand your phone over... Going against that would set a tone. As for Gaspar, he's a man desperate to be noticed as the Globe is going out of business. He and Volin are contrarians. It hasn't been handled well from the start, but the courts will now deal with it as I wanted from the start. The end for Goodell. |
I think it's obvious that Brady is guilty, he used Facebook for his rebuttal.

Didn't know he gave his previous two phones for examination and then claimed he routinely destroys phones. Either Brady has truly terrible counsel or he just doesn't care. |
|
What we've basically learned is that Brady is a cheat and Goddell is clueless.
Let's face it, outside out of New York and New England neither of these facts are especially surprising. |
Quote:
Of course. Tom Brady with his list of convictions : Let's face it, when your QB is great enough to be in Ted 2, people get a little jealous... |
Now where's that meme I need now... (unsure what a meme is)
|

Quick to hand over the other 2 phones though. Bet NFLPA love that. Presumably hastily repaired by his PA if he ceremonially smashes up a phone when he gets a new one.. |

Transcript from the Appeal and other evidence is now out there...
Looks pretty bad for Goodell, Vincent, Wells and Grigson. Not to mention Mortensen and ESPN being used as "sources" to reveal incorrect information direct from NFL HQ. 0 game suspension. |
Kangaroo Court.

People found to lying after week one of Court:
Roger Goodell, Jeff Pash, John Harbaugh, Ryan Grigson, Ted Wells. The only people who have done anything to bring the league into disrepute are the very people who "protect the shield". They've made Chris Mortensen look like a complete oaf by force-feeding him incorrect information. I said at the start that it would all come out, and I couldn't wait for this to go to court. Roger, give us the picks, the money and our QB back now, disappear into the sunset with your $40m a year salary and Brady might leave his defamation case at the door... |
Some people are just dumb:

Rex and the Bills claim Enemkpali off waivers.
That's going to be an interesting place to play with Percy Harvin and Richie Incognito also in the squad. |
Without posting unsubstantiated rumors, I can say that Geno Smith had it coming. (If what I heard happened is what really happened) Not even Jay Cutler would have done that.

Oh go on! Tell all!

Answer, "I'm going to lose my job over it and get the hell out of here." A similar incident happened to the Cowboys in the '70s. Roger Staubach got punched in the face, they traded the puncher, Clint Longley who was back-up QB to Staubach, and ended up drafting Tony Dorsett via the trade with the Chargers, not bad... |
Rex Ryan claiming the LB is brilliant.
It's also the sort of thing they used to do on Hard Knocks. I remember an episode of them trying to get Vernon Gholston in a fight to wind him up and unlock a mean streak. |

Good grief, Trent Richardson.

That's been typical of his NFL career. It's not like Alabama when he had 7-10 yards to choose which hole to run thru.
http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/b...ZrVEAAsKIN.jpg |
That's terrible. Even League player Jarryd Hayne hit a hole for 50+ yards in his first ever game playing the sport.

For those interested, Hard Knocks season 10 (Texans) is airing on Sky Sports 1, Sunday night/Monday morning at 1am. Repeats Thursday night again on SS1 at 10:30. 1st episode will repeat tomorrow night so you haven't missed out on anything yet.
|
For what it's worth, episode 1 is well worth a watch, just to see how much of a freak JJ Watt is.
|
I have listened to a couple of podcasts that question whether JJ Watt is playing up for the cameras i.e. staying around until 10:30 signing autographs etc.
End of the day, like you said though the guy is a freak on the field, so must be doing something right. |
Who cares if he's playing up for the cameras or not, still did it. He certainly wasn't playing up for the cameras when he was training... the guy is a beast.

@SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin suffered torn ACL during today's practice. (via @nflnetwork)
Wow that's a huge blow for Carolina |

Majorly. Below him, they're there as one of the least proven/least talented groups in the league... |

Loved DeAngelo Hall making a twat of himself, and tempers boiling over between Houston and Washington at the end. JJ Watt is a monster. A beautiful monster. |

Jordy Nelson done his ACL?!
|
That's a monster blow for the Packers.

Will there be any more sale periods for the UK games? I know it says Sold Out for all but the Jags / Bills game but is there not later additional sale periods? Thinking Lions / Chiefs being Nov likely not had returns from the teams yet surely?
|
Great news for fellow Eagles fans!! :lux::lux::lux:
Mychal Kendricks signs a Four year extension!! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...year-extension |
Quote:
Alonso, Kendricks and Ryans are a formidable trio of middle linebackers. Coupled with the overhauled secondary and the formidable front three plus a decent pash rush and the Eagles defense is looking potentially stout. Definitely needed too especially at the back end of things. I'm hopeful of us going deep into the playoffs if everything clicks. |
Can the Bengals borrow some of your linebackers? Besides the issues with Dalton, it's the one area where we look so a bit thin on the ground. Signed Mauluga to a contract extension (overpaid I might add) and AJ hawk apparently is not impressing. Add to this, Burfict is coming back from micro fracture surgery and it's not looking good

Best advert for a video game ever, let alone for Madden 2016...

I'm sure the NFL loves this:

Off the top of my head though... didn't Stanford win that one?

The NFL thread
Stanford smashed the Hokies 40-12.
Taylor got sacked eight times. |
Is it true????? Associated Press saying it is
Brady wins court case and judge nullifies his 4 game suspension! |
It's nice to be vindicated.

I have to say I am quite pleased about Brady getting off with no Suspension... It means The Cowgirls have to face Brady as well!!! :lux::lux::)
|
.... And hopefully it results in Goodell quiting (or getting the sack!!) :moo::p
|
Surely Goodell's position is untenable, his reign has been nothing short of piss poor.
|
Quote:
|
Quote:
He'll find a way to avoid this. He'll blame Vincent, Pash and Wells. This must be somewhat embarrassing for Goodell since the NFL rushed to NY to file this case with the judge they wanted before the NFLPA had a chance to appeal. |
Quote:
But the NFL did an awful job of pinning it on Brady, and so this was the only reasonable outcome. No complaints about the result of the appeal, and the league needs to accept it and move on. Even so, laughable that their fans see it as reason to proclaim the entire organisation innocent because one person within it was cleared. But what else is new? |
Do the Patriots still lose their draft picks?
|
Quote:
However, it can still be fought through litigation if he chooses to go nuclear on Goodell. |
Hmmmmm, if that was Romo, the ban would have remained.
