The cell phone company said that the text messages were unrecoverable... He gave Goodell a letter to that effect.

Do you not think its slightly suspicious that Wells asks him for all relevant texts, he then destroys a four month old phone on the day he meets with Wells, even though he knew at the time that the investigation wanted to see the texts.

If timing was different it's possible he routinely destroys his phones every year or so but every four months? And knowing that he's been asked to submit those messages for the investigation....

I'm not biased here. I like Tom Brady and I don't hate the Pats. They were my second team for a long time. The whole NE defense is basically a conspiracy theory based around some weird idea that the NFL would want to frame and shame it's most successful franchise and most successful player....

pauldrulez 29-07-2015 09:21 AM

Like I said at the beginning of the suspension, I can't wait for it to go to court.

Greg hardy can be a bit of a flat track bully, racking up 99% of his sacks on Matt Ryan, which is always fun

Benzhiyi 29-07-2015 05:10 PM

Brady is one of the cleverest men in pro sports, and would clearly recognise that the simplest way to clear his name would be to hand over his phone.

Why, then, go the opposite route and DESTROY it? And why can't Pats fans see that such an act is suspicious, even if they don't want to consider him guilty?

If he's truly innocent, it was a spectacularly dumb move from him and his attorneys.

Adlerhorst 29-07-2015 05:13 PM

I suggest you read Don Yee's interview with La Canfora.

As for handing the phone over, Brady was used at the head of a NFLPA lawsuit. Their policy is do not hand your phone over... Going against that would set a tone.

As for Gaspar, he's a man desperate to be noticed as the Globe is going out of business. He and Volin are contrarians. It hasn't been handled well from the start, but the courts will now deal with it as I wanted from the start.

The end for Goodell.

Funk Butter 29-07-2015 08:22 PM

I think it's obvious that Brady is guilty, he used Facebook for his rebuttal.

People found to lying after week one of Court:

Roger Goodell,
Jeff Pash,
John Harbaugh,
Ryan Grigson,
Ted Wells.

The only people who have done anything to bring the league into disrepute are the very people who "protect the shield".

They've made Chris Mortensen look like a complete oaf by force-feeding him incorrect information.

I said at the start that it would all come out, and I couldn't wait for this to go to court.

Roger, give us the picks, the money and our QB back now, disappear into the sunset with your $40m a year salary and Brady might leave his defamation case at the door...

A similar incident happened to the Cowboys in the '70s. Roger Staubach got punched in the face, they traded the puncher, Clint Longley who was back-up QB to Staubach, and ended up drafting Tony Dorsett via the trade with the Chargers, not bad...

Alonso, Kendricks and Ryans are a formidable trio of middle linebackers. Coupled with the overhauled secondary and the formidable front three plus a decent pash rush and the Eagles defense is looking potentially stout. Definitely needed too especially at the back end of things. I'm hopeful of us going deep into the playoffs if everything clicks.

ben1987 25-08-2015 03:14 PM

Can the Bengals borrow some of your linebackers? Besides the issues with Dalton, it's the one area where we look so a bit thin on the ground. Signed Mauluga to a contract extension (overpaid I might add) and AJ hawk apparently is not impressing. Add to this, Burfict is coming back from micro fracture surgery and it's not looking good

Bro, just because the judge overturned the suspension on a technicality doesn't mean they are innocent. The fact is that everybody's the villain here. Of course Brady was behind deflating the footballs. Of course the NFL punishment was insane. At the end of the day, there were two guys making bullshit money that were just doing their job that got fired because of this. He'll find a way to avoid this.

He'll blame Vincent, Pash and Wells.

This must be somewhat embarrassing for Goodell since the NFL rushed to NY to file this case with the judge they wanted before the NFLPA had a chance to appeal.

The organisation very clearly cheated. Hence those two equipment managers getting the boot.

But the NFL did an awful job of pinning it on Brady, and so this was the only reasonable outcome.

No complaints about the result of the appeal, and the league needs to accept it and move on. Even so, laughable that their fans see it as reason to proclaim the entire organisation innocent because one person within it was cleared. But what else is new?
