Vick wants to start, I'm still not convinced that we'll keep hold of him, trade him for a 3rd round pick and take Tebow in the draft would be the route I'd go.

Then again trading McNabb to the Redskins for a 2nd round pick is terrible business, Who knows what we'll do next.

I thought his workout went badly? Not that I think much stock should be placed in them, but I thought I heard it didn't do him a lot of favours.

He's only won more college games than anyone ever, which I think is more significant. Of course he took that record over from David Greene, so arguably quality of team mates and strength of opposition plays a large part in that.

Could be interesting to see how he develops in the offense.

Anyway, i'm finished with the first round of my second last mock draft :p

Here it is:

St. Louis - Sam Bradford, QB - no-brainer.
Detroit - Russell Okung, OT - keep Stafford upright.
Tampa Bay - Ndamukong Suh, DT - new Sapp for Tampa.
Washington - Jimmy Clausen, QB - my guess is Washington trade down as someone comes up to get Gerald McCoy. FAIL
KC Chiefs - Eric Berry, S - 3rd best player in the draft IMO.
Seattle - Gerald McCoy, DT - 2nd best player and fills a need.
Cleveland - Joe Haden, CB.
Oakland - Bruce Campbell, OT.
Buffalo - Brian Bulaga, OT.
Jacksonville - Derrick Morgan, DE.
Denver - Rolando McClain, LB
Miami - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/LB
San Francisco - Trent Williams, OT
Seattle - CJ Spiller, RB
NYG - Dan Williams, DT
Tennessee - Everson Griffin, DE.
San Francisco - Earl Thomas, S.
Pittsburgh - Mike Iupati, OL
Atlanta - Brandon Graham, DE
Houston - Kyle Wilson, CB.
Cincinnati - Dez Bryant, WR.
New England - Sergio Kindle, OLB.
Green Bay - Anthony Davis, OT.
Philadelphia - Kareem Jackson, CB.
Baltimore - Jermaine Gresham, TE.
Arizona - Jerry Hughes, DE.
Dallas - Maurkice Pouncey, C
San Diego - Terrence Cody, DT
NYJ - Golden Tate, WR
Minnesota - Taylor Mays, S.
Indy - Charles Brown, OT.
New Orleans - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB.

:p

Some how I don't think the Deadskins will be drafting a QB in rd 1

I think its not too bad, presume we just didn't have much else in tgerms cof offers and afer all the talk it was better to take that than hope for wait longer, take a worse deal all keep McNabb.

I have faith in Kolb, but my concern is that our defence isn't going to be doing him too many favours. Up until last year we were known for having an aggressive and good defence that could win us games. It seems that we've barely improved it, and I don't think a load of rookies is going to helps. I'd feel a lot more confident about next season if our defence had really been boosted in this off season, as although against the Cowboys are offense didn't fire, our defence was always the weak link during the season.

SteveyHawking 05-04-2010 11:48 AM

Still think it's really dumb trading him to the Redskins. You just KNOW it's gonna bite us in the arse. Making your Divisional rivals stronger is such a clever move!!!

Plus they were a lock to take Clausen with their first pick and he's nowhere near a #4 in actual ability. Now they're free to take Eric Berry, Okung or whatever DT out of Suh and McCoy is still left which will further improve their standing in the East. Sigh.

jazman 05-04-2010 11:55 AM

Who is to say that you haven't done the right thing considering how you lot berated him last season and even the season before? There is no guarantee that he will be any better than Jason Campbell was last season ....

I went to see Eagles @ Redskins last October. I felt a bit sorry for Campbell, as he spent most of the game on his arse, so bad was his protection.

If there's no improvement for the coming season, I fear that McNabb might be made to look quite ordinary.

Bloody Redskins ruining my mock draft.

I'm certain they trade down to 7 now. Cleveland come up to take Eric Berry.

Chiefs take Bulaga

Seattle get McCoy.

Skins take Trent Williams.

jazman 05-04-2010 11:31 PM

Give up Paul. It's an onerous task surely ...

pauldrulez 06-04-2010 03:26 AM

Yes.

But, i'm really not sleeping well at the minute.

Hell, I was on here at 4 last night and really didn't want to be :D

And i'm leaving for work in 4 hours.

But, that's life. And this gives me something to think about, anyway.

I can't think for any other reason you would do it unless you were a so called expert being paid to draw up a list ...

Don't you remember though - Paul IS an expert. By copying so many other experts, he can only be one himself.

I'm no expert on the draft or college football but even I like trying to predict who will take who.

jazman 06-04-2010 01:14 PM

It's kind of like predicting who will buy Darren Ambrose in the summer ...

Or even which foreign club will take Rooney away from Man Utd after the World Cup ...

All ifs and buts ...

Agree, it's a bit of fun, that's all. Nice to get to know some of the prospects as well.

Why don't you just piss off.

All you do is come on here sniping at me.

All I have done is give a mock draft. As I have the last 3 years.

If you actually looked at other mock drafts, you'd see that mine has multiple differences to others. Like the Lions taking Okung. The Bucs taking Suh ahead of McCoy. Cleveland taking Haden (despite getting Brown from Philly), all the way through there are differences.

I do this to learn a lot about the players that I haven't seen much of even though i've seen a bit more this year. It also allows me to see the needs from other teams.

I don't claim to be an expert. I'm just passionate about this sport and really enjoy the buildup to the draft.

With me booking St. Georges Day off as always, it also allows me to stay up for the first round on the Thursday Night.

Not really a comparison to Ambrose. There is a set order for the draft obviously though trades make the order a bit different.

You can normally be pretty spot on with your top 6 though last year there were the odd changes with the Jets coming up for Sanchez.

Last year I got 27 in the first round and 8 exact picks. Most likely a fluke especially this year with 40 first-round graded players in the draft.

Each to their own. Last year was the first year I have actually watched the draft (highlights admittadly) and I did happen to wonder what all teh fuss was about. Particularly when all the mock drafts never had Sanchez being picked so highly and Crabtree so low down ... Made me laugh though that happening as it was clearly a suprise .... maybe my lack in interest had something to do with Dallas not having a pick until the 3rd round I think from memory ...

My comparison to football in this country was a loose, the best I could come up with but you got my drift ...

No need Paul. You give as good as you get from what I have seen both here and the F1 thread. If you can't take, don't dish ... :p

pauldrulez 06-04-2010 09:22 PM

I can take.

I've taken it on this thread for 3 years now with very little response from me to the regulars of this thread compared to what I give on other threads.
