The Attorney really stuck the boot into Ben.

He looks really bad out of all this.

There was only a small piece of male DNA so they didn't test Ben for it.

The description of how it all happened was pretty brutal as well.

Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged for sexual assault stemming from an incident in Milledgeville, GA earlier this year.

During a news conference moments ago, Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright said during a meeting with Ben's alleged victim 10 days ago, she said she did not want to pursue the matter any further.

Bright said both Ben and the woman were highly intoxicated on March 5 when they went into the bathroom at Capital City nightclub -- where the alleged incident occurred.

Bright said there are still "significant questions about what occurred" in the bathroom ... but Ben will not be prosecuted.

Bright said after the alleged incident, the woman went to a local hospital where a doctor and two nurses examined her and found "a superficial laceration," bruising and bleeding in the genital area.

Bright said the woman told doctors "a boy kinda raped me" -- but Bright said the doctor could not definitively say if the woman's injuries were caused by sexual assault.

Bright said Ben initially said the woman fell and hit her head in the bathroom -- but doctors found no trauma to the woman's head. After that, Bright says Ben's agent stepped in and said the quarterback wouldn't answer questions with an attorney present.
Still sounds fishy. But like most cases like this, he has been cleared. And a word that never helps the accused in situations like this "AGAIN". He's an intelligent man (supposedly), don't get into things like this.

Still meeting Goodell before the draft.

C'mon man, the dude is a moron. He's lucky he's not dead from the motorcycle accident. He is lucky as hell that he's not gonna be charged with this. It sounds really bad. I wonder how much her desire to make this matter go away and how much good ol' boy syndrome went into this.

pauldrulez 12-04-2010 08:27 PM

"Just a good ol' boy.
Never meaning no harm
Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law
Since the day they was born."

Sounds like he has paid her off on the sly to drop charges!

pauldrulez 13-04-2010 10:09 AM

Wouldn't shock me.

Though the girl did say that she didn't say it didn't happen, but she didn't want to pursue the charges as her private life was affected by media interest.

Anyway.

The Jets have declared themselves Superbowl Champions again. Like they did Week 2 of 2009. This year they've surpassed themselves and done it in April.

Might as well not bother watching the season now...

Swanny32 13-04-2010 02:38 PM

Video of "Rapistberger" on NFL.com apologizing to his family, friends, colleagues for the incident etc, so heart felt that he didn't even write his own notes, you can see him half way through take a sneaky peak over the page to see if there is anymore to read. Wanker.

Didn't like him, don't like him and probably never will like him.

Swanny32 13-04-2010 02:41 PM

I really hope the Rooney's suspend him for a while, the bloke is a complete joke and shouldn't be allowed to be playing NFL, earning top dollar and being a "role model" to millions of kids around the world.

Stoolers in general can suck my balls, outside of the obvious divisional rivals (Skins, Girls and Gunts) Stoolers are by far my next most hated team, I know this may be hard to take but I actually prefer the Pats over the Stoolers!

pauldrulez 13-04-2010 05:29 PM

Erm, how has this not come out anywhere else

Harry Manion, a Boston attorney who occasionally speaks on legal matters on sports radio WEEI, revealed during an interview with "The Dennis and Callahan Show" this morning that he was recently involved in an investigation of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger unrelated to a recent incident at a Georgia nightclub.

Roethlisberger, who learned yesterday that he won't be prosecuted in connection with a sexual assault complaint filed March 5 by a 20-year-old female college student in Milledgeville, Ga, faces a possible suspension from the NFL. He will meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell today in New York.

According to Manion, he was retained by a client six months ago to investigate similar allegations against the 28-year-old Steelers quarterback regarding an incident in a Las Vegas nightclub.

"[The allegations] were absolutely identical to this Georgia girl's story," said Manion. "The outcome was that the young woman did not want to proceed, and we did not take any action. There is a history here -- and I can't say any further because we never proceeded with it -- but there is a history here that is just super troubling."

Manion said Roethlisberger, who is being sued by a woman who alleges he raped her in 2008 at a Lake Tahoe hotel and casino (he denies the allegation and has filed counterclaims), clearly needs a wake-up call.

"Unless he's totally brain dead -- and we don't know -- he would be scared," Manion said. "Because he has really walked a perilous line here. There's a whole litany here, not only in my experience; I have connected with several other people that have experience. And you know, there's only so far that he said/she said will get you. T

"There's only so far that paying hush money will get you, if hush money is paid. And there's only so far that, 'Gee, we're celebrities, we have a target on our back,' will get you. When you see this much smoke, month after month and continuously . . . "

* * *

Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com has an interesting take on Manion's commentts. Florio, a labor lawyer in West Virginia who no longer practices with PFT.com now his full-time job, wonders if "Manion has placed himself at risk for a defamation claim."

Welcome, Brandon Marshall. :lux: :lux: :lux: :lux:

Bellyman 14-04-2010 01:32 PM

Just saw that on Twitter, not bad

pauldrulez 14-04-2010 02:15 PM

Initial thoughts.

1: Why the bloody hell do teams keep trading their best players into our division?

2: Great move for Miami. Especially if it is only a 2nd rounder this year with a possible pick next year.

3: Surprised that Parcells did it. Marshall has a shit attitude. But, if he knuckles down, Miami have just put themselves up there with the Jets as the best of the division on paper.

4: AFC BEAST BABY :lux:

I know I am a dick on this thread at times (yes, all of the time before someone makes a joke) and have been overreactional at times...

But, take a look at Patsfans.com on the messageboard.

It's like 9/11 all over again for 75% of them.

Some of them have thrown in the towel on the season because of the Jets moves and now they are suicidal after the Marshall trade.

Let's see after the draft where all these teams are. 4 picks in the top 53 to add to our young roster is good enough for me.

Latvian Eagle 14-04-2010 04:56 PM

I see Browns have Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace competing for the starting QB role this year... It's going to be a horrible season in Cleveland I feel.

Obviously I hope the Pats blow the draft, but whether it be the Jets' acquistions, the Marshall trade for the Phins or the draft for the Pats no-one wins the Super Bowl in April. Long way to go yet.

Still a good move for us I feel. Time to research the mock drafts again.

pauldrulez 14-04-2010 06:08 PM

I think you go Dan Williams.

3-4 relies on the NT. Williams is the best NT in the draft.

Outside shot: Earl Thomas, S. :p

I reckon Delhomme will do OK, he's certainly an improvement on Quinn and Anderson last year.

Think the worry is more for Cardinals with Anderson and Leinhart competing

When you look at some teams you have to wonder why they don't take a punt on Vick.

pauldrulez 14-04-2010 06:12 PM

Because Vick sucks.

He doesn't have the ability to play QB anymore.
