Oakland Raiders stood out at first because I used to have a baseball cap with their logo when I was a child (Although they were LA Raiders then). Not too keen on the whole black kit though...

So I have decided it is between the following:

Cincinnati Bengals
Miami Dolphins
Chicago Bears

Any advice on which one I should choose? Swaying towards the Bengals

Go with the Bears - a solid, proper NFL team unlike the crime-riddled Bengals and the gay-turquoise wearing Dumfins.

I like their kit. :o

Is there any team like Man Utd that everyone supports and I should avoid? Would that be the Cowboys?

Is there any team that gets more TV coverage over here?

I'd chose the Bears. I have grown to have a soft spot for all things Chicago as my son has taken them to his heart. First for NFL but branched out into NBA, NHL and MLB :p

I like this team. They remove opposition heads.

For American sport versions of ManUre, see:
NFL Cowboys
NBA Lakers
MLB Yankees

Only a real tool supports any of those, isn't that right jaz? :D

saxoneagle 10-07-2010 02:59 PM

Stick with the Bengals - crime and suspensions make a season interesting :p

saxoneagle 10-07-2010 03:00 PM

I've just realised - The Omen can be our very own TO :p

Let's not forget that, if being wankers is the yardstick of a Man Utd association, the New England Patriots deserve a special mention.

The Mancs of the NFL are without a doubt the Cowboys or the Patriots, steer well clear of both. I have a big soft spot for the Bengals as I'm a huge fan of Ochocinco, as far as I'm aware we are without a Bengals fan on here so it would make a good addition.

Bears, don't do it. They're shit.
Dolphins, good side but already have a huge UK following that they picked up in the early 90's.

The two teams coming over this year are worth a look at,

49ers, steeped in history, 5 superbowls, oldest stadium in the NFL (Candlestick Park), and some very talented youngsters, Crabtree, Davies and Coffee, who will make a huge impact on the game over the next few years, IMO. They're my second team as I was originally a 49ers fan when I was a kid.

Broncos, for me, they aren't as good as the teams listed above maybe with the exception of the Bears, they have lost they're superstar WR this off season, Brandon Marshall, who signed for Miami. They do lack a huge amount of quality throughout their Roster, arguably their best player is Dumervil at defensive end/linebacker, but they do have one of the best head coaches, again IMO, in Josh McDaniels.

If you stick with the Bengals fella then a bright Orange Ochocinco jersey is a must!

By supporting the Bengals, am I setting myself up for years of heartache like supporting Palace?! :D

Not really, they're not a great team but seem to be getting better and actually made the playoffs last season. If you want a team with heartache then true to form stick with the Eagles both over here and over the pond!

AddiscombeEagle 10-07-2010 09:37 PM

I'd choose the Bengals out of them three, good team last season and plus they have Chad who is one of my favourite non Raven NFL players. Worth following them for his celebrations.

Swanny32 10-07-2010 09:51 PM

And he has his own iPhone app too.

pauldrulez 10-07-2010 09:56 PM

Love Chad.

Last week he said in the first game of the season (@Patriots), he'll take a gun off the EndZone militia and fire it. He then got in an argument with our 3 Tweeting Cornerbacks (McCourty, Butler and mainly Bodden) discussing how he'd score.

saxoneagle 10-07-2010 10:01 PM

Chad is just TO with a marginally smaller ego and much less talent, IMO.
