Oakland Raiders stood out at first because I used to have a baseball cap with their logo when I was a child (Although they were LA Raiders then). Not too keen on the whole black kit though...

So I have decided it is between the following:

Cincinnati Bengals
Miami Dolphins
Chicago Bears

Any advice on which one I should choose? Swaying towards the Bengals

This year, go wit the Jets, thats if you want something to cheer and enjoy

Bengals it is! :lux:

LLCOOLSTEVE 10-07-2010 11:21 PM

Oh dear, Bungals :(

Swanny32 10-07-2010 11:54 PM

Chad isn't a complete money grabbing egotistical pumped up prick who thinks he's gods gift to earth. Chad brings humour to the NFL and wears his heart on his sleeve.

Swanny32 10-07-2010 11:55 PM

We have a Bengals fan! Nice one Omen. Welcome to the thread as well.

Swanny32 10-07-2010 11:57 PM

Feel free to ask any questions, no matter how dumb they may seem, that's how I learnt. We're a good bunch on here, well, nearly all of us, but I'll let you make your own mind up on who the wind up merchants are.

The Omen 11-07-2010 12:08 AM

Cheers guys :) I'm looking forward to it.

Who shows the games over here? Please don't say ESPN... (but I assume that's likely)

LLCOOLSTEVE 11-07-2010 12:11 AM

ESPN have monday night football this coming season, SKY Sports have the Sunday games and generally have excellent coverage.

ESPN really is worth getting if you are into American sports

Swanny32 11-07-2010 12:12 AM

I think ESPN has MNF (Monday night football) then there is two games on Sky Sports Sunday night (6.30 and 9.30) also there is a late night game on channel 5 which starts at 12.30am or something. Thursday night football starts half way through the season and starts at 12.30 am on sky sports.

The Omen 11-07-2010 12:34 AM

Cool cheers. Not keen on paying for ESPN and Sky Sports, but may consider switching to ESPN as I'm a big UFC fan and they have that too.

Just worried about missing some good football

Swanny32 11-07-2010 02:05 AM

Get into live streaming fella, Ardeo is the man to speak to on that, he has been streaming NFL for a few years now and knows all the ins and outs in terms of where to go and what software to use.

Agree with the talent part and the ego part.

Would add that the Bengals players love Chad, the majority of players don't like TO after a season with him.

Good luck with supporting the Bungals Omen, personally I don't think they'll make the playoffs this year. Benson won't be as solid and Palmer isn't a great QB IMO.

Now you've got a team, just need to get Madden and play fantasy football then you'll be hooked!

Bears, don't do it. They're shit.
Dolphins, good side but already have a huge UK following that they picked up in the early 90's.

The two teams coming over this year are worth a look at,

49ers, steeped in history, 5 superbowls, oldest stadium in the NFL (Candlestick Park), and some very talented youngsters, Crabtree, Davies and Coffee, who will make a huge impact on the game over the next few years, IMO. They're my second team as I was originally a 49ers fan when I was a kid.

Broncos, for me, they aren't as good as the teams listed above maybe with the exception of the Bears, they have lost they're superstar WR this off season, Brandon Marshall, who signed for Miami. They do lack a huge amount of quality throughout their Roster, arguably their best player is Dumervil at defensive end/linebacker, but they do have one of the best head coaches, again IMO, in Josh McDaniels.

If you stick with the Bengals fella then a bright Orange Ochocinco jersey is a must!

In your opinion fella .. ;)

Being on here I would say Philly aren't far behind ....

Bears aren't shit at all ... they need some tweeking here and t here ...

But at the end of the day most people have a soft spot for the Bungals particularly after last year ... and I just love Ocho Cinco ... :p

I'm the same, won't pay for both but Sky coverage is very good indeed. Just annoys me how they can't show Total Access anymore as the Monday night highlights package was fantastic.

Swanny32 11-07-2010 12:47 PM

I must say I'm very tempted to get ESPN this season as I want to watch some college football as well but I just can't bring myself to cough up more than I already do, I pay £55 a month for sky hd and even that's too much.

jazman 11-07-2010 01:24 PM

I watch far too much sport for the rest of my households liking so really cannot justify ESPN

LLCOOLSTEVE 11-07-2010 01:52 PM

whenever im bored ill just stick ESPN on and it will cure my boredom :) Last month I found myself watching the Lacrosse college finals :D

y2rich 11-07-2010 02:28 PM

I did exactly the same LLCOOLSTEVE. I'd only get ESPN if you like College sports. In my opinion NCAA Football is better than NFL anyway...
