You go on record a lot Paul ... :D

Patriots have just called a Press Conference to announce a retirement.

We know Burgess might retire, but surely Bill wouldn't do it for him.

Might be Fred Taylor or Torry Holt.

Knowing my luck, it'll be Brady.

pauldrulez 31-07-2010 02:21 PM

Unless it's a guy like Stephen Neal who considered it in the off-season. I hope not.

Same with Kevin Faulk who for me is still a beast.

Who was it?

pauldrulez 01-08-2010 11:11 PM

David Patten.

Great Conference.

Bill was in tears through his little bit.

Patten said he hadn't told his family yet.

I'd say Bill had a talk with him about it. Wes was coming off PUP, we needed a cut.

Will always remember his SB36 TD catch.

Strathclyde Eagle 02-08-2010 08:46 AM

That was a terrific catch actually. Turned it into a nice contract with the Redskins didn't he?

pauldrulez 02-08-2010 09:48 AM

Yep.

I think the best part about the play was hearing the design of it from Charlie Weis and Brady on Americas game.

It was originally going to be a simple out to the pylon. But they knew the CB liked to jump the route. So they changed it to an out-go.

Ball was snapped. Patten went on the out. Brady pumped. The CB bit on the fake. Patten caught it falling back in the End Zone. Great catch by the Chief, great play design by Weis and great execution by Brady.

Up there with one of my favourite plays since I started watching.

My favourite America's Game story is probably Manny Fernandez travelling to Pittsburgh and thinking his wife had died in an air crash, only to then find out she was ok. Just an unthinkable burden.

The Raiders recently appointed former linebacker Greg Biekert as an defensive assistant, this is from the official press release on The Raiders website....

"Biekert, who played 11 seasons in the NFL including nine with the Silver and Black, may be best remembered for recovering Tom Brady’s fumble in the “Tuck Game” against the New England Patriots."

Good ol' Al,he just can't let it go :) :) :)

Rookie Hazing day Number 1 in Foxboro.

Drench one side of the field and the rookies (and new coaches) have to try and recover a fumble from the mud. They then get hosed down by the vets after.

Hazing Day Number 2 begins soon. The Veterans let loose with the shears and razors. You lose your hair or it looks awful. Or, if you've got dreadlocks like Brandon Spikes, you lose your eyebrows instead.

Agreed ... hard to watch that story being told if I'm honest ...

Big brawl at Cardinals training camp today. Apparently video will be available soon. Something to do with a player being thrown into Leinart. In other news Derek Anderson is looking real good, Leinart not the definite starter.

Just read the story of the fight, sounds like a gooden! After which fights starting breaking out all over the place.

pauldrulez 03-08-2010 08:32 AM

It's a good thing in a way. The Offense becoming a team and fighting the Defense.

Anyone surprised that Joey Porter got involved?

zonin2000 03-08-2010 04:46 PM

Not much happening in the NFL today.

* Haynesworth skips conditioning test (again)
* Chris Johnson wants to break Dickerson's record
* Ndamahkong Suh misses his third day of practice as he holds out
* Aaron Schobel won't return to the Bills
* Brett Favre has retired
* Dave Garrard sits out Jags practice
