-20. And a minus 10 windchill.
And most of them are still short sleeves! That's admirable. The ground must be like razor blades though |
Brady always looks like he is just playing in a ho hum game down the park or something. Certainly Mr. Cool.
Crowd also sounded very Chelsea'esque.... very little atmosphere on the whole it seemed to me. |
Is the NFL website meant to have a spelling error on the front page?
On the right hand side it says "Prefect Patriots". Not sure that's deliberate! |

I don't think The Giants read the script.
|
What a game last night - Favre didn't play well at all except one throw. Eli moved the ball well all night and the Giants deserved to win, however they got their in the end.
So, the Pats have two weeks to think of a game plan to stop an average QB on a decent run, a tall WR, a big RB and a couple of excellent defensive ends... and let's hope that secondary stays banged up seeing as the Pats are so lucky ;) |
Well, that's pretty much the Super Bowl line-up I was dreading.
As someone completely obsessed with Boston and everything in it, I'm not sure I can stomach seeing a team from New York win the Super Bowl. And yet, in spite of my complete obsession with Boston and everything in it, I'm not sure I can stomach seeing the local team go 19-0 either, such is my love of the Fins and intense dislike of the Belichick-Brady axis of evil. If they'd lost a game this season I'd probably be willing them on, but undefeated? Ugh. I'm supposed to be having Nookiebear over for the Super Bowl. Maybe I'll just stick on Game 4 of the Red Sox - Rockies world series instead, so he can experience a side from Massachusetts winning a world championship with good grace while demonstrating values of sportsmanship and fair play. ;) On a separate note, watching american football in HD is just beautiful. I recommend it to you all. Oh, and on the subject of Mr Bear: on our visit to Washington for the season opener I remember us having a discussion about Eli Manning while watching the Cowboys tonk the Giants in a local pool bar. He insisted Eli was a better QB than he'd demonstrated in the past; I said he was a bust who was living off the name of Archie and Peyton. The last three weeks have conclusively proved that I was wrong. Without Shockey, without Barber, he's been nothing short of outstanding. Nookie, I know you don't hear this very often given the fact I routinely spank you at Madden, but... You win. |
Always thought Eli had something about him!
It's taken one of his main go to guys to get injured however for him to show his true talents! Crazy! I expect the Giants to go out all guns blazing like they did in the regular season game! I hope they win it... Sorry Ben! ;) |
:) Funny enough I was thinking about that conversation while watching the Giants game this morning on Sky Plus
Any mistake Manning makes is dissected because he's not Super Payton, yet I don't recall Eli ever throwing 6 INTs in a game. Eli has been so composed throughout the play-offs - I'm hoping he can do it one more time and beat the Pats otherwise Benny will have a heart attack! I don't even think Payton should have been the MVP at the last Superbowl, but he gets all the plaudits and his brother gets slagged off for every mistake Bit bizarre as a Skins fan bigging up a Giants player but I think his story is pretty interesting |
Go on the Giants :)
Fantastic performance in nasty conditions, def the two form teams going into the Superbowl now, should be a good game if the last game of the regular season was anything to go by. |

And Eli is getting it together. Experience is a great thing. And I suspect the way no-one came out and supported Tiki Barber in his comments about Manning indicate that his team-mates both like him and respect him. |
What comments were these?
I also agree about Peyton last year! He was noway the MVP in the Superbowl. Amazing though. Rex Grossman had a shocker in the bowl and his career has pretty much nosedived since! |
Thinking bout the SB, what do people think is going to be the score in the end.
I'm sure the Pats will win but not sure about the Giants' tactics. If they watched yesterday and saw Brady continuously blitzed, then they may use the Chargers approach which also meant that Randy Moss was rarely left unattended which allowed Maroney to get the two touchdowns. I'm going to go for 31-20 to the Pats |
I have a feeling the Giants will win... :clown:

Pats 20 - Giants 24

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/22/sp.../22giants.html It got him to the point where a career-long Giant and possible Hall of Fame RB is now booed when his highlights are shown at Giants Stadium. |
Wow! Strong stuff eh!
Are QB's ALWAYS team captains?! I don't think you can question Eli's enthusiasm anyway! He does seem quite reserved compared to a lot of other Quarterbacks though. |
